*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Hey there Michelle!
You've got a lot on your plate right now. When do you take the bar exam?

Good morning all! We've got another busy day today, and for some reason, I only slept for 5 hours last night. I'm afraid it's gonna get ugly later, unless I get major amounts of coffee in me this morning!

Bridgette, I hope your hives are better this morning.

Heather--Good luck at the doc.

Have a great day girls!

Oh Bridgette you poor thing. That looks just awful! ((hugs)) and prayers to you!! I hope all these meds help and as Heather said BE careful with all of them. Those are all really powerful so please be careful!

And January prayers to you and dh. He will be glad to have his surgery early because he can't eat anything and when I had mine back in Feb it gets hard when you have to sit and wait and wait. Maybe it is not as bad for him but I know for me when I can't eat it triggers my migraines. And then after ALL that my surgery was scheduled for 8 a.m. I think and then I ended up not going in till almost 10! But I will be thinking about you guys and I am sure he will do GREAT!!

Thanks so much Linda for the thoughts and I am going to pick up my new meds today so I am praying they work. I took that Maxalt yesterday and it actually seemed to work. It didn't work right away but I was still driving home and it was over 100 yesterday. But once I got home and laid down it seemed to go away and had I been able to STAY home it probably would have worked great but I had to take the girls BACK out to swim in that awful heat. My head hurt a little but it didn't seem to come back which was good!

We had our team pics FINALLY last night and it was BLAZING. My car temp said 109! Luckily after they were done we could leave thank goodness and then I just took the girls to Dennys cuz I was too whipped to go home and cook after that. I had a really good salad and that helped with my headache as well. I think I was really hungry too!

I then came home and went to bed pretty early and I feel good SO far. We have swim again tonight so I sure hope it isn't too hot! I am so glad we have this weekend off. I NEED it LOL.

Anyway I hope everyone has a GREAT day and the only sure thing I am doing today is mailing my exchange package! :)

Take care everyone and talk later!

Buenos Dias my favorite ladies! :lovestruc

January, I hope Brent feels better. Bad headaches can be terrible. Lots of prayers and pixie dust for him.

Oh Bridgette, I hope you feel better soon. Super huge hugs to you.

Heather, I’m still sending you baby girl good vibes!

Capri, more prayers for your Dad. Lots of hugs too.

I just wanted to say thank you to Heather and PrincessBell, who's pretty face I can picture as clear as a "bell" but darn if I can remember your name. OOH, it's Courtney, right?? See, my old brain is not completly done in.

Anyhow, check out my new link to my pre trip report:)

:rotfl: Courtney it is! :thumbsup2 I'll be checking out your PTR. I finished my TR from my last trip, link is in my siggie if anyone wants to check it out! ;)

Hi Michelle, Tina, Kelly, Linda, Rochelle, Melody, Katie, Vickie, and everyone else! Have a great day!!

Hi ladies!!

Been a bit since I checked in.....think I had to go back about 15 pages to scan. Just know that all are in my thoughts......so much going on with everyone!! :flower3:

Been down in the dumps not knowing what was next for us & tuning into this thread just makes me sadder........ this trip in February is something I really want to do, but something's gonna have to change before then for that to be possible now.

I do think about you all & are sending good wishes to each of you. I'll snap out of this funk & then you won't get me to shut up on here......lol :lmao:

Peace :hippie:

Happy Thursday Everyone:)

Bridgette, you poor girl. I hope those hives clear up real soon. I would be freaking out, too.

Laurie, sorry things are kind of down for you right now. I hope it gets better. Feb is a long way off, things change. Keep the spirits up:thumbsup2

Buenos Dias to you, too Miss Courtney.;)

Hi Courtney!! :)

Hi Linda! Have I ever told you I love your siggie pic! Always makes me smile and wish I was there. You two are the cutest pair! :)

Just got done working out and it felt good to do it. Now I just have to keep it up! ;)

Well I am off to run my errands and maybe have lunch with mom. Good day everyone!

:laughing:Good morning everyone! I was super busy at work yesterday and didn't have time to check in, but it seems like there is a lot going on with each of you right now, so big hugs all around.

I had the opportunity to see Ka last night with Beth and Theresa and Deb. Originally Amy was supposed to go but had to back out last night so lucky Deb scored a free ticket! We hit the Rainforest Cafe in MGM for a quick bite to eat before the show and then spent 90 breathtaking minutes watching the drama unfold. Seriously, it was fantastic! Afterwards we ran into Stacie(lee) and Marcie and some new friends that they had made while we were at the show. Meanwhile Stacie(rita) and Cheryl were off with Wendy and Dawn having dinner and hanging out at the Orleans.

From the sound of it, Stripper 101 was great as was Tony 'n Tina's wedding the night before.

Today I just popped in to work for a couple hours before I will meet up with everyone down at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign for pics. Then it is a full day of shopping at the outlets and Town Square before we head over to the Rio for the evening. On deck tonight is Vodoo Lounge for a witch doctor drink, then Righteous Urban Barbeque (R.U.B.) for dinner and then a date with the yummy eye candy known as Chippendales! It's gonna be a full and fun day, and if it's anything like every other day of the trip has been thus far, there will be many interesting and unexpected adventures. I can't believe that the week is almost over already and that soon I will be back to my normal, sedate and urbane Vegas life where I don't spend every evening on the Strip! But, at the same point, I'm not really sure how long I could keep us this pace... Oh well, it's fun for the time being!!!

Bridgette- Those hives look bad. I got itchy just looking at them. I hope they clear up soon and try to stay calm just in case that is aggravating them.

Heather- Best of luck at your appointment today. Hope great things happen in the end :thumbsup2.

January- I know Brent has already had his surgery by now. But I hope all is well and he recovers quickly.

Michelle- Wow that sucks about the infection. Will you still be able to make it Sunday?

Laurie- Hope everything falls into place for you soon and you'll be able to make it in Feb.

Hi to everyone else .

Kelly, the train is an adventure. I have an embarrassing story about it.

I took it once when I got a cheap flight out of BWI. I took the Metro to Union station, and then AMtrak up. I was young, and had never done it before. I knew our stop was coming, but I guess I thought it would be like an airplane or something. I was waiting for them to tell me it was time to get off.

The next thing I know, the train starts back up, and I'm like NO!!!!!! and go running against the crowd trying to get to the doors. They had to stop the train and one of the conductors had to walk me back down the line to the station again. Everyone still on the train was inside pointing, snickering, commenting on my shoes (OK, maybe not, but I felt very talked about KWIM?), and such.

Turns out, that when they mention that your stop is coming up next, I should have gotten up with my stuff walked to the door while the train was still going, and wait. I didn't know. I thought I'd get in trouble for moving around. It was like the subway, I had exactly 2.2 seconds to get myself and stuff off the train once it stopped. I'll never forget my walk of shame with the conductor seething beside me, and the train full of people glaring. :rotfl:

LOVE this train story. I know you had to suffer for it, but now that it's long gone, it makes for a good story!

The plus side is that I get to spend more time with the baby :lovestruc. I just have to continue to TRY and budget a little better.

And that is one of the world's cutest and sweetest babies ever! :cloud9:

Those hives look really itchy! I will be praying for you.

Have a good night everyone! And thank you for all of the good thoughts and prayers for Brent. He appreciates it and so do I!:grouphug:

Give us a post-surgery report when you can!

I got hives like that the last time I changed laundry detergent. It's the only thing that will set me off like that. It got to the point where I was bleeding they were so large and breaking open. I hope you figure out how to stop them.

Good night all! I hope I sleep, I'm nervous about tomorrow. :scared:
:wizard: for you!

Bridgette - that is what I pictured from your description. I have a good friend who also had the same kind of mystery reaction. She suspects it is something she eats as it has come up a few times. You have all our sympathy - it just must be frustrating. (but yes, you must keep calm)
Listen to Heather about not over medicating - she is a nurse.

:wizard:

I Long story short, it appears I was bitten by something (they think spider) that I had an allergic reaction to. The allergic reaction caused a blister and the blister caused an infection. Only I could manage something like that!
e

Michelle, I had a friend who had this as well - from a spider. Take care!!

Hi Courtney!! :)

Hmmm... I love the "new friends..." I have images of off-duty Chippendale's dancers escorting them around. :lmao:
Today sounds like a really full schedule. I'm so glad everyone loved Ka since not everyone was thrilled with Love. We need to hear about stripper 101 from one of the gals who was there. Is Beth sleeping at home or at the condo? Thanks for the report, Jane!

I had to return something at the outlet mall so I went into the Disney outlet. Turns out this is a temporary one, only there for a few more weeks. It is really best if you have young kids as 99% of the stuff left was clothing. I should have hit this when it first opened. It was fine since I had to be there anyway, but it wouldn't have been worth a long drive.

Tracey, did you find the Disney link for the pins?

This was a great story and timely for me! I will be taking the Metrolink train from Simi Valley to the Burbank airport tomorrow. I need to make sure I don't miss my stop!! Thanks for sharing! I am not sure if the Metrolink is anything like they are in NYC but I'll make sure to be ready to get off the minute they open the doors!!

I gotta get up at 4:30 to take DH to the hospital for his surgery at 5:30.:sad2:What an ungodly hour to be getting surgery. Oh, well. At least he will get it over and done with.:thumbsup2

Have a good night everyone! And thank you for all of the good thoughts and prayers for Brent. He appreciates it and so do I!:grouphug:

I hope everything went well today!

Sounds like a lot of fun! And I am glad everyone is having the time of their life! I am exhausted just reading about it! Thanks for the info on KA...DBF and I might be coming to Vegas in July and we always say we want to see Love (we are both huge Beatle fans) but maybe KA is better?

I am catching up on emails from my two days at the HITEC convention in Anaheim. Doing laundry so I can repack for Denver. I leave tomorrow afternoon and like I said previously I am taking the train because Bob is still at Boy Scout camp and I don't want to bother his parents by asking them to take me to the airport. It'll be fun - I used to ride the train in Denver to work. I'll be in Denver until next Friday and my mom's surgery is on Thursday. I have plans to meet with friends and co-workers and I am really looking forward to being in Denver (it's still very much home to me and I am not sure when or if I'll ever feel that way about CA) I'll be staying with my sister and my parents will arrive on Tuesday so I'll have a day or two to spend with them too. It'll be fun and stressful at the same time but that's life!

I'm working too while in Denver so I'll check in next week to read about the Vegas trip and to catch up with everyone else.

Hi Donna! I had no idea that Pete and friends got to see Walt's apartment until I read the trip report. I was sitting at a different table at lunch so I guess that is why I didn't hear about it. I am so jealous but loved seeing the pictures and was really surprised they let them take pictures at all!

Hugs to all! :grouphug:

Wow, I did not know about this at all until you posted this. I will go look. Very cool. I mean Pete has done so much for Disney, it makes sense. Good luck with your mom. Should I wait to send you that letter we discussed until you are back or will it be safe?

Don't stay away. I probably won't be there either, but I still like to chat with everyone. Heck, I even offer my opinion!

Hi January. I'm sure you are busy being a good nurse, but let us know how things are when you get a chance.

Donna,
I did find the link, which is how I developed my tremendous urge to buy! I saw that some of them are available with deliverears, but there are two of them that are not. I'm okay if it turns out I don't get to own them. I'm just not looking anymore for right now.

Hola ladies!

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and prayers for Brent. He is snoozing away right now (thank goodness:rolleyes1).

His surgery took 45 minutes from the time they wheeled him from pre-op to recovery! Super fast IMO, since the surgeon told me it would most likely take 1-1 1/2 hours. He is really sore and dizzy from the Hydrocodone/Ibprofen he is taking. He can't really eat b/c he is nauseated from taking meds, but not eating makes it worse. Oh, well...he is resting now. I hope when he wakes up he feels better.:goodvibes Sorry if this is TMI, but I am contemplating calling the hospital about this: he feels the urge to go #1...but can't seem to get it out. Do any of you all know if that is normal? (I know that some of you have medical backgrounds and/or have had the same surgery)

We don't have central air in this old house we live in...only wall units and they are not cutting it. I need to tell our landlords (my parents) to get some A/C.:rotfl:Just call me Miss Pissy-pants.

Hey Vegas girls!

I am glad to hear you all are having a blast! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your time together.

Hey Vegas girls!

I am glad to hear you all are having a blast! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your time together.
I think I am lost. I didn't realize that Brent was having surgery today. I just thought you had to take care of him, because he was having such bad headaches lately. Sorry about that. Anyways, glad he is home and I hope and pray he recovers well!

Brigette, you poor poor thing. You look miserable, and so itchy!! I hope you are feeling up to all of your packing and such. Please please take care, and I hope and pray that those meds are gonna kick in really fast!!:flower3:

Michelle, sounds like you have a plate full too. I was bitten by a black widow a couple of times a few years ago, and it was horrible. My foot hurt like heck, kept me up at night, and I got sick. I was on all kinds of meds too. I wonder if that is what got you? I hope through all of your busyness,(sp?) you can get in some good studying for your exam. I had no idea you were still going to school. Yikes.............that is one big test to take!! I hope it goes great! Just that you have gotten this far is something to be proud of. :thumbsup2

Laurie, I'm sorry you are feeling down in the dumps. But just know that you can always come here and chat to help lift your spirits!! :grouphug:

Heather, I'll be thinking and praying for you tomorrow.

Hi Jane! I'm jealous of you! (I need a pea green smilie. This is a close as I can get.)

Hi to all other divas. Kelly, Linda, Donna, Tina, Courtney, Tracey, Sarah, Katie, Janelle, Vicki. and all others who are missing lately.

Thanx for all the happy thoughts!!! I know God has a plan for us, but it sure would be nice to know what it is.........

Sad day today in the entertainment world......people I grew up with have left us.....one that was very ill & needed to finally have some peace.....Farrah Fawcett, but Michael Jackson was a total shocker!!! What a huge loss......CNN actually had someone close to the Jackson's say this may turn out like the Anna Nicole Smith fiasco........ I sure hope not!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

What time did he go last? We have a bladder scan protocol that we do with all of our post surgical patients. It can be common for them to have trouble going at first. I would say that if it's been greater than 8 hours, you need to call the doctor. Don't call the hospital, they'll tell you to call the doc or go to the ER. Good luck, and I hope he's feeling better!

Heather, I'll be thinking and praying for you tomorrow.

Hi Mel! Thank everyone for your well wishes. It wasn't bad at all. I had to wait over an hour for my appointment, but she had the thing out in 2 seconds while I was talking, and I didn't even know she did it! She laughed, but I'm glad it's over. I guess the next two weeks could be interesting for me as I come off the progesterone and start my cycles again. DH might want to get a hotel room! :rotfl:

I have to work tomorrow and Sat. I hope time flies, and that you all don't fill up 20 pages while I'm gone. Have a great weekend everyone!

I know what you mean, Laurie. I grew up with Farrah and MJ, too. Farrah was an icon to my generation. I had Farrah Fawcett hair in my senior picture, complete with "wings"! I always thought she was soooo beautiful. Heck, when she posed for Playboy at 50 I remembered thinking I NEVER looked that good, at any age! And Michael Jackson may have been a lot of things; strange for sure, but he was so very talented as a musician and entertainer. Super shocking news. Just WOW.:sad1:

Kelly, thanks so much for the compliment on the pic of my baby girl & myself. They grow so fast, your beautiful girls will be grown up before you know it!

January, glad your DH is recovering. It's hard that first day as you are so nausiated but do need to eat something.

Thanks for the quick recap of the Vegas trip, Jane!

Hi to everyone else. Sorry for those I forgot. I have a sinus headache and keep sneezing. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!?!?! :confused3 But I did have DH take me out to the local mexican restaurant for some fatty-girl cheese enchiladas with rice and beans - oh, and don't think they weren't the good kind with lots of lard!:upsidedow Bad Linda!

I was just looking at my photobucket and thought I would post a hello to Kerry:
