*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Oh my gosh Jane! Thoughts and prayers are with you! Hope things turn out great!

My dh had a job interview today that went pretty well. He is going in Monday to take a 4 hour test and if he passes that he will need to get a Microsoft certification. If he gets that then he is basically hired! It would be 9-5 M-F which he has never had as long as I have known him so I will be super excited if this pans out! Please think good thoughts for him! I am thrilled that he is working on getting away from the other company!

Sarah

Hi ladies!

I am stopping by to say hey!

Jane--our neighbor is pretty much going through what you are going through. He is getting kicked out because the woman who owns the home he rents has not been making the house payment. It is really sad and unfair. I hope it all gets figured out and you all get some sort of compensation.

Poor TY!! I hope his chinny is better.:wizard:

Michelle...good luck with the Bar Exam! :) When do you take it?

Cristabel--Bummer about the carpet....brown and blue could go together. I mean the 70's are making a comeback.:thumbsup2 j/k!

Kelly--I am so happy to hear your girls got their ribbons!!:cheer2:

Sarah---Good luck to your DH on his job prospect!

I am sure there is more that I am missing...I am not sure how I could miss anything. The thread is naked! We need more posts!

Just a quick post before going to bed.
Brianne & I met up in DTD after work today to shop for our character gift exchange recipients. On our way to DCA we noticed that the old Libby Lu store is now Club 365 (or something like that), but it is EXACTLY like Libby Lu only run by DL cast members. We popped in for a looky loo check. Interesting. Then we had dinner at Jazz Kitchen. They changed their menu since we were there last, but it was still delicious! They have a prie fix menu with app, entree and dessert ($27 - not bad). You do get to choose each course, and it was all really yummy. And I am glad we made a resv as all the tables were full and many people were waiting outside. We heard some lady with a southern accent yelling to her group "they said it's gonna be two hours!". Ummm, I would have to pass on that. It was actually kind of hot today, we were in DCA for an hour or so and the airconditioned shops felt nice. We got all our shopping done, I hope the two Divas we bought for like their gifts.:cutie:

Cristabel, good luck on the carpet fiasco - yikes! Hi Sarah and January.

Jane, keep us posted, what has happened to you and your family is a horror story, I am so sorry. People today are desperate and it's a crazy world I tell ya. Breezy's part time job is in jeorpardy too, I hope it lasts until she can find something else. Anyway, we really enjoyed being at DLR tonight. Night all. ;)

PS A big shout out to all the Vegas girls - HI!

Hi ladies! I hope you are all having a great weekend :goodvibes Just a quick post. I went to DL on Thursday with my brother and younger sister. My boyfriend was supposed to go but he had trouble sleeping. I blame his work hours as he is so accustomed to coming home late and sleeping late. He ended up not going (if he went he would be cranky from only getting an hour of sleep). He told me that he would make it up and take me to DL tomorrow. I was shocked since he is not really a big Disney fan. :cutie:

FYI- The summer fun passes do not fit into fastpass machines. If you buy one you have to go to Guest Relations in either DCA or DL (City Hall) to get a ticket for fast passes. I suggest going to DCA's Guest Relations to get a fast pass ticket that is good for both parks all day. The line for City Hall stretched out close to the entrance of DL. :faint: There was no line in DCA. :thumbsup2

We were able to ride a lot of rides thanks to fastpasses. :yay: It helped out with the crowds.

I took a pic of a new store that just opened up called Studio 365. I wasn't able to see it as I arrived one day prior to their grand opening but I'm hoping to stop by there tomorrow to check it out. :) Here's some pics:

Morning all!

Linda sounds like you and Bree had a fun day/night yesterday!!

Rochelle thanks for the pics of the new store. Sounds interesting! Sounds like you had fun on Thursday and have fun today! :)

Sara that is great news about your dh! Good luck to him! :)

Jane I am so sorry about all you are going through. I can tell you I don't know ONE kid practically that has gotten through childhood who hasn't busted their chin open so just a note to say it is scary I am sure but he will do great! :) Shelby did it at 2 by falling head over heels in front of me down our stairs. I liked to have had a heart attack. She was carrying our cat and the cat did NOT like that and did one of those turn around deals to get away and knocked her over backwards down the stairs. She was on the top stair and as I said went head over heels not rolling side ways. I was on the phone when this happened and threw it down but could not catch her in time. I screamed and was so afraid she had broken her neck or every bone in her body. But NOPE just busted the chin open. But there was SO much blood. We DID take her to urgent care though and she needed 4 internal and 4 external stitches to close it up. You are right the fighting to hold her down was almost worse than the owie but she is none the worse for ware and you can't even see the scar! Katy didn't bust her chin but did ALMOST the same thing about the same age. Went face first into our end table. RIGHT on the pointed corner. Again I liked to had a cardiac arrest because I thought it had knocked her teeth out because AGAIN so much blood but her teeth were still there although VERY loose but all the blood and she was WAILING. I guess it is a badge we moms get to carry that all our kids have to scare us to death at LEAST once LOL. I am glad that Ty is doing ok and know you have your badge! ;)

Last night we took the girls with us and mom and dad to this little mexican place and they wore the dresses mom bought them in Mexico. If she e-mails me the pics I will have to share cuz they were SO cute!

We had a nice time although we were out on the patio and it was SO hot. It is supposed to be 105 today! BLEH. I am SO glad we are not at the meet! We are thinking about taking the girls to see transformers but otherwise just holing up in the house with the AC. :)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and stays cool!

Take care!

Just popping in real quick to say Hello .

Jane- Really sorry for the situation your in. But you guys sound like you are really "on the ball" with moving. I'd only be barely looking for a place, but I'm slow like that. GOOD LUCK!

Good morning!
Just got up and it's already HOT! My mom said it's supposed to be in the 100s today :headache:
I'm training with Tyrae at 11am at the park and I'm NOT looking forward to it!

Good morning and a quick hi to all!

I made it to Denver at 1:00am! I had delayed flights out of Burbank and Phoenix…thankfully I have a wonderful, understanding sister who had a little 8 year old chaperone, my nephew, to pick me up! I love being back in Colorado! I was so excited to see my dog, Mili and she remembers me and followed me all over and was waiting at my bedroom door.

Jane – Sorry to hear about your housing situation. That is so unfair. And poor Ty’s chin. I split my chin open when I was in the first grade and the doctor didn’t worry about traumatizing me with only three stitches! Sending good thoughts your way.

Sarah – Great news on your husband’s job prospects! Wouldn’t that be great if you could work ‘normal’ hours instead of retail hours??!! Lots of good luck wishes coming your way!

Linda – Sounds like you and Brea had a nice time yesterday shopping for your exchange! I finished mine and need to post on that thread. I love the Jazz Kitchen – now I am hungry for gumbo!

Kelly – I am sure the girls looked really cute – looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Hi and hugs to anyone I missed! :grouphug:

:scared1:Good Morning! 100 degrees is way to hot! I'm happy to report that we seem to be set for pleasant 70ish to maybe the 80's with a nice cool pacific northwest breeze. I can't help but think of Callie moving right now, and how happy she must be!

When it rains it poors huh? Hope Ty's little chin heals quickly. My oldest split his cheek at YMCA daycare when he was 4. He jumped for joy when he saw me enter and landed on a wooden corner of whatever he was standing on. Tons of blood. Being my first born, I thought you had to go to the ER for those things. So I headed in and we waited forever! They stuck us in a triage room with a young gal that was a slasher and the doctor came in and had a detailed conversation with her about her slashing.:scared1: I was so glad that Andrew was sound asleep. Yep, that's how he dealt with the trauma. As a matter of fact when the doctor finally got to us, he put 4 stiches in without the kid even waking up. I now have strict requirements that if he is ever injured they are to take him to the local Children's Hospital. Also, since then I have learned of the beauty of the walkin clinic, although they sort of complain when people use them as an emergency room.

The new store looks like a preteen version, rather than a princess version. Sort of the Hannah Montana crowd. Probably pretty smart of Disney. I am jeolous of you gals that get to pop in so readily.

Have fun in Colorado. It is so pretty there. I never expect it to be as arid as it is though.

Hi ladies!!!! Just wanted to pop in and hope everyone has a great day.

It's warm here too. My Mom and I made a quick lunch run and it's beautiful outside.

I think I'm going to take a nap! I love naps! :cloud9:

Hi girls!
I am not sure whats going on around here, but I hope everyone is ok.
Just Stacielee & I are left here. She is packing and I am goofing off.

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday, its a pretty warm day here in Vegas!

Today was a long and busy day, but at least we are starting to get a grasp on what our options are. We visited 4 apartment complexes and drove by a few others that we were able to cross off the list without even visiting. Of the four there was one we liked and one that we would need to wait until Sunday in order to view the unit that we would want. We also visited one rental house and we viewed two units here in our current complex that are still owned by the property management company, however during the course of the day one of them got rented (but luckily it is not the one we would want if we stay here)!

Tomorrow we are scheduled to visit a 2nd rental townhouse and we are trying to arrange visits of 3 more properties as well. I am guessing that by Sunday afternoon we should be ready to do an application and hope to sign a lease on Monday.

Meanwhile I called the company that I thought was the mortgage company, but it turned out that they were just hired by the mortgage co to change follow work orders. We have gone to the county assessor's and recorder's websites to follow the trail, but are having trouble getting to who exactly owns the property these days. It makes me so angry, 'cause it appears that the landlord started to default way back in September and that this has been a LONG time in the making.

Since we are on a month to month lease our goal is to have a new place by July 1 and to be moved out by July 6 at the latest, with really hoping to have everything moved out by July 4. Of course the landlord is not returning our calls and he lives in San Diego, so it's not like we're going to show up on his doorstep. Michelle, I so wish that you had taken the bar already!!!

Oh, and on top of this, Ty split his chin open at daycare this afternoon and we had to make an emergency run to urgent care. It was pretty small and not even really bleeding, so he ended up not getting stitches 'cause it only would have taken one or two and the doctor felt that the trauma of restraining him and the lidocaine shot would not be worth it for the slight difference it might make in the scarring. The doctor then was going to steri-strip and butterfly suture it shut, but he was (correctly) worried that Ty would rip it right off, so we settled for a bandaid and neosporin, which lasted less than 10 seconds. So, all in all, not really a big deal, but just one more reason to make this week memorable!

Have a great weekend everyone! I hope to have some good news, by the end of it, so wish me continued luck!!!

Jane, you are smart to start looking right away. That is exactly what happened to us. The scam artists who rented the house to us knew when they rented it that the foreclosure process had started. That ate up the year that we had the house so then we only had 30 days to vacate.

Sorry to hear about poor Ty -- oh, can you guys have any more stress?!:wizard: for you.

My dh had a job interview today that went pretty well. He is going in Monday to take a 4 hour test and if he passes that he will need to get a Microsoft certification. Where the heck do you live? I was all over LA today, down at the convention center for the home show, and it was not that hot...

Good morning and a quick hi to all!

Lucky you, in Colorado! Love it there.
Yes, Kelly, I want to see those photos.

Hi girls!

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday, its a pretty warm day here in Vegas!

What is "pretty warm"? How is your knee?

Hello Divas! I am back and exhausted. I have so much to catch up on. But not today, I need to get to bed early. Hope all is well!

Drive by posting... We're in a rural town in New Mexico.... I'm very creeped out with staying here, but what can you do? The trip was better today than yesterday but I'm SO SWOLLEN... my whole body is poofy I can't even explain it. The hives are better but it looks like I have ring worm in my legs (I see mickey heads everywhere!) To top it off I've eaten very salty food today. I hope it's just the steroids that are making me balloon. Other than that, my car carrier blew a tire today, but I got some great pics and we saw the Cadillac Ranch! Tomorrow we're headed to Holbrook, AZ and we're going to see the painted desert and sleep in teepees. I can't wait for civilization again! We'll be at the Grand Canyon on Monday night then Vegas for the following two nights. I hope the Vegas ladies had a ball! I'm really sad right now so I'm going to go to bed. I hope everyone else is doing great too!

Yeah Michelle he has def made a new friend. Is it true that Riley is coming in Oct? I didn't see him on the list so wasn't sure. I know he said he was excited to see Shane. I think he has a new friend ;). I tell you one thing those 3 (or 4 if you count Jason LOL, not sure how much HE actually plays) are obsessive. Shane is on that thing from the MINUTE he comes home and is up till after we go to bed. You DID create a monster LOL. I have to pry his butt out of the chair to go ANYWHERE! ;)

:rolleyes1 Sorry about that one. I'm definitely a game widow! We have one computer and three boys arguing over it to see who gets to get on when.

Good evening everyone!
I'm glad to hear that some of Vegas Divas have arrived home safely.

It's been too quiet!
I have to go prepare for Sunday School. It looks like we will be going to the beach tomorrow. I like the beach but I hate having to pack for it!

Morning all! Good to see some of the Vegas gals back. Cristabel is right it HAS been dead on here. NO offense to you lovely gals that have been here with us! But we need our other friends too to keep us company. Makes it more fun when everyone is here! ;)

Well yesterday we ended up staying home ALL day. I felt like I was getting sick and between THAT and the heat we didn't want to leave the house. Shane of course was on his stupid GAME all day! (insert eye roll!) LOL and the girls and I were just hanging out doing stuff round here and watching tv and just trying to keep cool! Shane did run out a few times and got lunch and then I was going to cook but he was nice enough to get chinese as well. I was glad not to have to heat up the house cooking. And gee I wonder why I can't lose weigh! HMMMM! ;)

But anyway today we ARE venturing out though to church cuz it has been WAY too long and we have missed it and our friends. Plus I want to get the info on VBS. Our church's is the end of July so I want to get that info. They have a REALLY good one at our church that is REALLY fun for the kids. The girls are really looking forward to it!

Anyway then we have to run feed mom's cats and go to the store. Then if we feel up to it we may go to the movies. That's bout it for today. Next week is just the same ole same ole. Work tomorrow and I DO plan to work out as much as possible this next week. For some crazy reason as badly as I have eaten and NOT worked out in months I have stayed at the same weight. I put on 5 lbs since the trip but then stayed at the same weight for awhile now but then in the last few days my weight has been all over the place. It is weird I start working out and my weight goes UP! Go figure. I am hoping it is because my muscles are sore and I am retaining water. I know I didn't eat the best but still! Anyway I am hoping to work out almost everyday AND to get my eating in check cuz this is getting ridiculous. Not only have I NOT lost any weight from what I wanted to when I started but I have almost gained 10 lbs back. RIDICULOUS!

Anyway then neither shane NOR I have a day off next week for the 4th. Usually at all my old jobs if the 4th fell on the weekend they always gave us the Friday or Monday surrounding the weekend off but this year we don't but in a way it is a good thing cuz Shane doesn't get it paid anyway and he has to take the Tues following off to go to a meeting with the VA about his new business anyway.

So that is pretty much my week in a nutshell. We are SUPPOSED to be going to mom's for a block party on the 4th but not sure yet if that is happening but we shall see.

Hope everyone else has lots of fun plans in the works and hope everyone has a good Sunday! Take care and talk soon!

P.S. I almost forgot one of the families on my swim team's house burned down yesterday while at the meet. If you all could think some good thoughts or prayers if you pray for them that would be appreciated. That is one of my biggest fears after losing one of my kids is losing my home in a fire. They only have the clothes they wore to the meet. It is VERY sad! They are the Blevins family. THanks!

Hello! I'm going to try and remember what all I wanted to comment on.

Jane, sorry about Ty. I bet he's back to normal by now, you sure didn't need that added stress! I hope you've found something wonderful by now.

Hi Vegas Girls!

Studio 365 looks like fun for the older crowd. I agree that it's very smart of Disney to do that, especially with the Bibbity Bobbitty Boutique open now.

Bridgette, don't be sad! You have a wonderful few days ahead of you. I do hope you start feeling better soon. You have to get yourself over those hives. What good is that doing for ya? Chin up!

Hi Kelly and anyone else I missed!

I'm home today, and DH is home sick. I need to clean, but don't feel the best myself. We will see what the day has in store!

Heather
