*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Bridgette, you are one amazing girl - that pic is beautiful!
And I am glad you love your parents so much, believe me, it means the world to us parents when you are grown.:lovestruc

Can I ask how old you will be next month?

Thank you everyone! I am really excited about it! SO I guess I could tell ya a little about me.

Im Kell, 29 single lady with a seen year old daughter with aspergers syndrome. She is my world. We live in Sonoma Ca. just 45 minutes away from San Francisco! We love it here, but wish we lived closer to Disneyland to go more often. I am a big time sewer, I make most of my daughters clothing witch she totally loves. Just as much as we love Disneyland we love Football.

I look forward to getting to know all you fabulous ladies!
HI Kell! Glad to know more about you. :)

Beth :goodvibes Good for you for doing all these checks for your health! It is so smart.

On the subject of worrying, think about it. You're going to get the same results whether you worry or not. And worrying is actually bad for your health. So think positive happy thoughts, pat yourself on the back for taking advantage of all that we do have here to help us and keep us posted.
Thanks, and thanks everyone for your well wishes. :grouphug:
So far the Pap, and skin check have gone well. Now I have a mammo on June 30, and a physical on July 7 to get through, then I can focus on my dental work.

Where's Molly when you need her? DH and I are fixing to take one for the team. You all might have to deal with my cravings this Oct or Feb. Pray for us that things go well.
Lots of baby dust your way!!!!
And I'm glad Nathan is getting the program at no cost to you.

Even though it is summer and I am not working....I seem more busy than ever! Sheesh.
We miss you!

But, D and I have agreed to start trying this time next year, and I really, really, really want a girl!
:yay: I get dibs on the baby shower!

Speaking of "babies"--Bella turns four months tomorrow. Here's a pic from today in my office:

Awwww, look at those ears.

Sucks that they are the only sport that has to pay for all there fees, camps, and uniforms. It comes close to $1000.00 for the year.
Yikes.

Bridgette--I want to go there! Your photo is,of course, amazing.

Beth--good for you for taking care of your health. I have trust/fear issues with docs and only go when absolutely necessary.

Heather--I can't wait to see your baby girl. I know it will happen for you!
You to, Jane and Molly, when the time is right!

I had a crazy busy day today, and it will continue thru Saturday. We are catering a rehersal dinner tomorrow night, and today I got a call for a party for 30 for Saturday. Another last-minute job, but we were available, so we took the job.

OK. I'm pooped. Night girlies!

Hello Ladies! Happy Friday!! :woohoo::yay::yay:

Just wanted to share a handbag I pimped. It took a long time because the iron-on studs are tricky. I had to cut and separate each letter to prevent the studs from shifting around too much. Here's how it turned out:

Hi Linda!

Thanks for the Baby Dust Tina and Beth! You all cracked me up with our virtual baby shower earlier this year. I know Jane will be one lucky girl when the time comes.

Cute bag pixiedust!

I'm off to work, but wanted to give a quick hello. I'm still determined to keep up with this thread. :rotfl:

I'm excited to see who my exchange buddy is later! :yay: Hopefully, I have time to surf the web later today, I'm going to be excited to get the shopping started! :cheer2:

Big Hugs for Linda who is startiing to go through empty nest syndrom and it's HarD!

Yeah for Cristabel and Bridgette's loans and their sweet parents who raised sweet daughters!

Where is Melody? i miss her!

Bridgette--is that actually Santorini? I saw that on a Giada DeLaurentis special a couple of years ago and have been pining to go there! You have to tell me ALL about it!

No, it's Mykonos early in the morning. I made an elaborate scrapbook of my trip... if you want, I can bring it in July and you can come to my room at DLH (Concierge... I splurged) and look at it! Or I can bring it to RFC, I just don't want it to get dirty.

Your comments mean so much to me, thank you! I'll be 25 :wizard:

You are too!

Bridgette--I want to go there! Your photo is,of course, amazing.

Thank you, you should go there someday! The Cyclades Greek Islands are to die for! We lived on Paros, but I also visited Mykonos and Santorini.

That's great. :cheer2: Bravo!

Morning all.

Hurrah it's Friday! That means I am almost done house sitting woo hoo! Last day to go into work too without mom being there. That is so stressful because trying to figure out what to pay etc and then there are people hounding me for checks etc. UGH! Anyway I got the meet program for tomorrow and it is a LOT better! I think they figured it out and I am a lot happier!

They STILL didn't put Katy in the indiv butterfly or shelby in the breast stroke but at least they are in 5 events each. Katy is at least swimming the fly leg in the medley relay and not the back stroke! Then she is swimming the 25 free, the reg back stroke, breast (which shall be interesting cuz that is her WORST stroke) and then the free relay.

Then Shelby is in the medley relay also swimming the fly leg, the 25 free, the 50 free, the indiv butterfly, and the free relay. One of the girls that is in both the medley AND the free relay with her has not been there in forever so hopefully they replace her! I would hate for them to scratch they whole relay teams because of that one girl! I haven't seen her in weeks and I wish they had not signed her up to be in the meets when she has not been here! Plus the girl that is signed up to do the breast leg on the medley I am not sure about. It may end up getting them dq'd or disqualifed but I guess it will remain to be seen. I know she got dq'd last week in her butterfly but we shall see.

Shelby has been doing so good on her butterfly I would hate for her to do well and then get dq'd because of the breast leg but we shall see. That is the problem with relays. The other 3 can do well and then 1 person can get the whole team dq'd. Anyway it will be a very tense but exciting meet tomorrow!!

Anyway I will be running in to work here soon and then Lynn is supposedly coming back up sometime today to drop off her homework and pick up her ins card. She has yet ANOTHER bladder infection. Gee I wonder why! She has basically figured out that she needs to go to the doctor here because if she goes down there she would have to go to the ER because our ins only covers ER cuz the urgent cares we cover aren't in that area. It's amazing when she ran away she thought she didn't need anyone and she was SO big stuff but she is rapidly finding out that she "needs" our help! She is back to wanting to get married again but she is going to find out that once she does she is truly "on her own". But Shane has decided that if that is truly what she wants he is going to let her do it because she has gotten kicked out every place and has burned every bridge and she is almost 18 and she is just going to keep running so better to just let her go at this point and make her mistakes because he can't tell her anything at this point and she is just going to keep running.

Anyway that's bout it for me. I hope everyone has a GREAT day and a good weekend!

Have a good weekend Kel.
Sorry about Lynn's bladder infection, those are not fun at all.
I have had it twice, it sucked so bad.
Sometimes they just happen.
My bff's step daughter is only 5 and she has had 10 bladder infections.
her something I can't remember is small. So sometimes these things happen
just because, not because of other things.

Someday things will turn around for Lynn, right now she is just young and wants her freedom. One day she will realize her mistakes and change her life around. Until then ya just gotta love your kids no matter what kind of grief they give you.

Morning girls!
Lunch with Capri was a lot of fun yesterday.
It was nice catching up and chatting.
She is just a sweetheart!

I am trying to pack for Vegas and it has been a pain.

I am going to I think upgrade my phone today to the iPhone.
I have GC's from my mom so I am thinking that I will do that if the darn store is not to busy.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Hey Bridgette! I went to Mykonos in 2005. Summer after I graduated high school. It was beautiful. You captured it beautifully. We also went to Santorini, Rome and a few other cities in Italy and France. Oh, I miss Europe sometimes. :lovestruc :cloud9:

Rochelle, what an adorable bag. Great job! :thumbsup2

I hope you ladies have an awesome FRIDAY!!!!

:rotfl: My DH is a nurse, but I can see the 'typical' man being confused! How funny!

Well I didn't get permission, but I'm sure it'll be OK. This endo is nice, but he has a strangely stern face. Since I myself have a stern face, I strive to not care about such things. Robert, however, gets really confuzzled in the endo's presence, and in that way it was really bad timing for me to be away.

Anyway, they were talking about the shot, and the endo said that you inject into "a muscle", but hubby, being a guy, heard "THE muscle" (even though "it" is not a muscle). I guess he got all scared, but didn't ask for clarification, and the endo was telling him what sort of syringe to get and that scared hubby, and finally he kind of whimpered about it, and it was all cleared up...but omg can you imagine how frightened R was for a minute???

But I guess now will not be a good time for him to get into Olympic Archery, eh? What with a probable banned substance being used? :rotfl:

The one good thing about all of this is that, besides giving us the probable reason for our lack of success, it's giving me time to drop some of this poundage! And the visit to SD is helping so much. Daily walks to the park, swimming for 1-3 hours a day, etc etc. And just not eating so much! Didn't realize how much I ate at home until I wasn't at home.

OH, and have I mentioned my tan? Despite 30 and 45 spf, when you're in CA, you just slowly get darker. Well, except for Nicole Kidman. HOW does she stay so pale???? Of course, for me, a tan means my freckles getting closer, ha ha ha.

My dermatologist would be happy with me, weird to say...when I last saw him, he told me to get out into the sunshine! Well, alrighty then!

Speaking of jobs.... yesterday Robert was called into the office of the guy who did NOT think that R would be capable, at the interviews. And the guy gushed all over Robert. Asked if he had any friends/colleages that he'd like to bring "on board", mentioned that they hadn't asked others that sort of question, etc. Then Robert got off work, checked his voicemail, and it was his OLD company, asking him to interview for a position he tried to interview for before! They lowered the "level" which meant that he's now VERY qualified for it, and the manager that gave him heck for trying to interview for it actually asked for him by name. ACK! It's truly all good, but still, WOW.

If this were next year, I could probably leave Eamon with the brother and jet off to Vegas to meet up! Sigh.

Yay for Robert--and hopefully Vegas will become at least a once a year thing so next time for sure!

Hello everyone,

I'm busy as a bee so no time to read back, but I wanted to quickly check in with everyone before I'm off and running again.

Debra and I had a really nice lunch together yesterday. Poor little babe, her leg is so sore.....she has to hobble her way around. It could make for some interesting moves during the erotic dancing lesson thingy the Vegas girls have going on. I BETTER GET TO SEE PICTURES OF THAT! :lmao:

Anyway, it was great getting caught up with her. Our waitress kept coming back over and over again to see if we were ready to order, but we were just too busy talking to even look at the menu for a while. We were like a couple of hens in the hen house, clucking away. :goodvibes

Okay, I've got to get going. I have an appointment this afternoon before I have to hit the books again. Tomorrow is our boys' birthday party, and Sunday we're going to my parents for a Father's Day BBQ.

Take care everyone. HUGS and LOVIN' for all of you! :grouphug:

Molly I am glad things are progressing with your dh. I sure hope that this all works and you have a new little one soon!! :)

Deb and Capri I am glad that you had a nice lunch! Sounded like fun!

Shane called me and his stupid work has lowered their pay again! GRRR. I am so sick of this crap. He hasn't gotten a raise in years and they keep CUTTING their pay. They claim that they HAVE to to keep competitive but it is getting rediculous. Between the pay cuts and the layoffs he might as well not even work. We already claim zero so we won't owe much taxes and are checks are puny as it is and now THIS! UGH! Plus he doesn't get paid when he doesn't work, like vacations and holidays etc. Now I am nervous about October. This ALWAYS happens. We make a decision and then something like THIS happens. It is ALWAYS this way. UGH! Plus my mom is paying for our trip in Aug but I still wanted to help her out and pay some of my way. It just sucks.

I am SO sick of this recession I could scream. I just hope this electrician thing works out for him and he can kiss this stupid tile business good bye. This constantly working pay check to pay check and always worrying if he is going to be laid off or if he is going to get yet ANOTHER pay cut is so not worth it. This economy has GOT to start turning around. Of course it doesn't help that we live in one of THE worst states economy wise. They admitted that our state has one of the worst deficits and yet WHO do they want to pay for it? The taxpayers. They said that the reason they have no money is cuz people aren't spending cuz they are out of work. Well gee let's tax them even more when they ALREADY don't have any money. I mean we already voted down the extra tax. I don't get it! Ok off my soap box but it is truly getting old!

Anyway all I know is I don't want it to get so bad I have to give up my passion, my Disney fix! ;) God forbid if things get that bad but if they keep going they way they are it might get that way! :(

Cute bag pixiedust!

Thank you! :goodvibes:

awww that bag is so cuTe!! Good Job:hug:
Love the duvet, butterflies are one of my most favorite things.
OOhhh and i want to stealor your juicey purse:upsidedow

Thanks!! :goodvibes: I got the duvet on clearance at Target last year. :) I like it too :) I just got the Juicy purse about 2 weeks ago. It was a new item that was marked down for more than 50% off for Nordstrom's half-yearly sale. I'm CRAZY about Juicy!! :rotfl: :lmao:

I am going to I think upgrade my phone today to the iPhone.
I have GC's from my mom so I am thinking that I will do that if the darn store is not to busy.

My bf bought the iPhone 3G about 2 weeks ago and then found out that the 3GS was coming out. We went back to the AT&T store last weekend and they ordered one for him. He just had to pay a $20 re-stocking fee. They just received it in the store tody and he was able to return the one he bought for the new one. He got the 32GB model. :)

There is a cool application you can download for free called Shazam. You can hold your iPhone up to a radio, speaker, etc. and it will tell you what song it is and who sings it. It's really cool and we tried it out when we were in Aeropostle. They had music playing in the store and he ran Shazam and it told us the name of the song and the band. :yay:

Hi ladies!!

TGIF!!

Quick couple of things.....

The exchange names are out. :thumbsup2

Rochelle, love the purse!

Capri and Deb, so glad you had a nice lunch.

Kelly, hang in there.

Molly, Vegas one day for sure!

Uhhhh, what else. Well, hopefully that was all.

Everyone, have a wonderful day and a great weekend.

Deb and Theresa will be here tomorrow. Stacie, Stacie, Cheryl, Marcie, on Sunday. And Wendy and Dawn on Monday. I cannot wait to see everyone and have some fun!!! :dance3:
We are definitely talking of doing this again, so anyone who missed it this time, hopefully you can join us on the next one. :cool1:
