Does anyone know when the start building these? DF and I would love to see them! :) TIA!

No not really when they start building them but from the WDW Christmas Special they ran in 2005 (and I assume they will run again this year unless they make a new one since the 50th is over) it sounded like they start right after Thanksgiving on construction...but they start making all the gingerbread in the summer! Must smell mighty good in the kitchens for months!

I can't wait to see these when we stay at the GF in December.

We're leaving Nov. 10th and I was hoping since they pushed up the starting of the Osbourne Lights and MVMCP they might start that earlier, but I guess not. Oh well, at least we'll be doing MVMCP. Thanks for the replies! :santa:

Not sure when they start but I have seen them putting the finishing touches on the carousel at Beach Club early in the first week of December.

We are agoing to be there Thanksgiving week and the week after, I was wondering this myself--if we were going to be able to see some of them built

The structures for the Osbourne Lights are already up at MGM. We were there Friday and could see all the angels and what not on the roofs.

I assume you're talking about the gingerbread sculptures at the Grand Floridian? If so, they begin cooking the gingerbread/assembling them beginning to mid November. I believe that they are finished before the end of November as the dates for the Verry Merry party start in November, and i assume they will be up for those dates.

Beware of the gingerbread! We went to GF and BW last year and the gingerbread house and the carousel were fabulous. I am a smeller and the smell was amazing! However, we bought some cookies (they sell them inside the gingerbread house) before we tried them and they tasted terrible! The ingredients even listed mace. We bought 3 gingerbread houses from the BW bakery and many cookies from GF to give to friends. I wouldn't recommend buying lots of cookies until you try them. They are so beautiful though you have to see them. You can bet we are going to be there. Leave room for me- I'll be the one sniffing the house. :tiptoe:

We will be there the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I was hoping to be able to see the gingerbread house! Too bad! :sad2:

We have ADRs for 1900 Park Fare for 11/25...hoping the Gingerbread House is up by then. It's one of the reasons I made the ADR...to see GF decorated!

I would love more info on all of the other setups, train, carosel, toy shop. Are they all Gingerbread? Should we plan an evening to tour all of them?
