Was just curious, the Gingerbread Mickey cookies, I know they have the plain ones and then usually some dipped in icing, the feet and the ears, etc. I know at Christmas they are Christmas colors, was just curiuos during the summer and stuff, what colors do they use or do they just do a bunch of different colors? Thanks in advance.:goodvibes

I was not aware that the Mickey ears gingerbread men are sold in the parks during the rest of the year. I was told that they don't appear until the end of the Summer season, which is the very end of August/early September....just in time for Fall/HalloweenTime.:confused3

Also, the ones that are sold during the holidays are just the regular Mickey ears gingerbread men with chocolate ears and white chocolate buttons (feet are not frosted). That's the only variety of Mickey ears gingerbread cookies available to the general public that I have seen.

The cookies that have holiday-colored ears with glitter or sprinkles are the specific cookies given away on the holiday tour. Those do not appear to be sold in stores.

And there are also regular gingerbread/non-Mickey ears cookies that are sold too, but I'm not sure if those are sold during the rest of the year. I've never heard of anyone getting gingerbread cookies in DLR at any time other than late August - early January, but maybe so?? It wouldn't make much sense, but maybe so?

Yeah, I saw on the food blog someone posted a picture of a bunch of them with different color dipped ears and feet, it is pretty cool looking and hoping they have them like that when I am out there in August. Well not the food blog but they dining review thread.

Those look like sugar cookies, not gingerbread. All the gingerbread ones I saw were much darker.

Yes, exactly. Those other cookies shown on the dining thread are either sugar cookies or shortbread cookies, I think...(I didn't see dipped feet - only colored, dipped ears. I have to go back and look again) ....unless they made them with some sort of lighter-colored gingerbread, which would be odd.:rotfl2:

They are the same shape as the gingerbread cookies we all know and love, though!

MattsPrincess - This actual gingerbread cookie in your photo above is the one you got while on the holiday tour, correct? The regular gingerbread/mouse ears cookies that are sold to the public in late August/early September, for Fall and Winter, don't have the sprinkles or colored buttons that I've seen. They have just regular chocolate-dipped ears and white chocolate buttons.

:lovestrucYup, that's the tour exclusive cookie. I still say it's the best gingerbread i've ever had.

My family and I were at Disney 2 weeks ago and bought some of the yummy gingerbread Mickey's at DCA. We found them in the sweet shop on the left side of the park right after you go under the bridge. They had chocolate dipped ears and 3 white chocolate buttons. So yummy!!!

We were at DL last year over Memorial Day weekend and bought the cookies there, too...I can't wait to have them again...they are SO GOOD:goodvibes

I am so excited to hear that they have gingerbread cookies even when it's not the holiday season. we will be there in october and I would  love, love, love to try a gingerbread man!

Yes, the Mickey ears gingerbread cookies have always been available all through HalloweenTime and on through the holidays, coming out as early as the end of the Summer season in early September or late August.

The fact that people are saying that they have already seen them this year or saw them at other times of year besides even early September makes me think that DLR must have realized how popular they are and decided to sell them year-round.

Perhaps last year or 2009, when DLR started getting its cookies from an outside source and not making them on-property (and the cookies got smaller!), they decided to sell them year-round? I am fairly certain these cookies were not always sold year-round or I think we would have seen photos or heard something about it from DIS'ers long ago.

I don't know if I like the idea of year-round gingerbread. I really think that should just be a seasonal thing, starting in Fall and lasting through Winter. I love those cookies and think they are delicious, but I'm not sure if I would want to eat them in the middle of Summer or Spring. And I'm talking about the real gingerbread cookies shown in MattsPrincess' photo above (except with regular chocolate ears and white buttons). I'm not talking about the lighter-colored cookies shown in the Dining thread which appear to be made out of shortbread or something else and are shaped exactly like the gingerbread cookies.

Make me hungry just looking at it! Going to DW in July.....

PegLegPete77 -

There has been some question as to whether or not those Mickey gingerbread cookies are sold at WDW! We are not 100% certain, but they may be DLR exclusives! One of our DIS'ers, tksbaskets, looked all around WDW during the holiday season - and that's the time there would be gingerbread sold, if no other time of year - and she saw no signs of any Mickey ears gingerbread cookies! She didn't see anyone eating them. She didn't see them in any shop, candy store or bakery - nothing.

So we got to thinking that the cookies may be reserved for DLR only??:confused3 I can't imagine such a thing, but maybe? I've also been told that there are not really any big pineapple spears to speak of at WDW (seems odd to me), while they are very popular at DLR. Popcorn seems to be the big snack at WDW, more than anything else, from what folks have told me.

Like Sherry, I love the gingerbread cookies. But I'm not sure I want one when we go on Monday. They seem more winterish to me. Just like I love dole floats in the summer but don't want one in the winter.

I will check out the cookies though and may have to try one next week!

I am so happy to see these without bright colored frosting or sprinkles! Ds cannot have artificial ingredients......does anybody have the ingredients list for these cookies? Or could I contact the shop in dca? We will be at dlr next week and these would be a great treat for ds since most of the other treats are off limits.
