Ginger Family Getaway: 8/30-9/6 Trip Report DAY 7 & 8 UPDATED 10/2

I am joining you in your dance today! Woohoo!
Why are these last few days dragggging by? :headache:

hi!!

I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to catch up on everyones TR since I have been absent. I PMed you my info for facebook so hopefully you got it. Happy packing!!!!!!

I've checked 3 things off my list: getting my package ready to ship to the resort, printing my Mousekeeping Thank You labels for tip envelopes, and printing little business card size Thank You cards to pass out to CMs. Thanks to fellow DISer lisabelll for the design - I did edit it a little.

My 8 pound box going out tomorrow! Yikes - $17 with insurance

You did really good with your box! Mine will probably weigh way more than 8 lbs!! And I have three to ship! I'm going to try to get one ready to ship parcel instead of priority, so the cost won't be so much. But it does still beat the airline extra baggage fee!

Happy Packing!!!

Someone just posted on another thread that you could not ship to the resorts using the US Postal Service. That they didn't deliver to the resorts, that you must use FedEx or UPS.

This was news to me, so I guess I'm going to look into this a little further before shipping my stuff, I may end up taking it all with me.

:confused3 I shipped a box via USPS in January 2007. It got there fine.

I will keep checking the status of my package - I just tracked it and so far it's in Orlando now (Sunday) being processed, and I just mailed it Friday. Hopefully since I sent it a week in advance, Disney's mail office will figure out where it needs to go and it will be waiting for us next Saturday! Keeping my fingers crossed! :)

YAY Betsy! Its almost time!! WOO HOOO!

Your envelopes look awsome! I didnt even do any this year for tipping. Maybe I should do a few huh? I have a box of envelopes, All I would need to do is print out a nice message on them. Im sooo behind this year. OHWELL we will be there in just a few more days!!! WOOT!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I ended up putting labels on them since my printer tends to screw up envelopes. It was easier since I already had shipping labels.

Can you believe it's almost time? I'm still recuperating from this bronchitis. Actually, I had a bad reaction to the first antibiotic they were giving me. It made me really nauseous, and I almost passed out on Friday night after taking a dose. Jon came into the living room and I told him, "I'm about to pass out" as my vision and hearing got fuzzy. He said my pupils were dilating like crazy and I put my head between my knees. Then he bundled up poor sleeping Aubree and took me to the ER. We weren't sure if it was the antibiotics or what (we both freak out since I went into heart failure during the pregnancy and post-partum). Thank goodness it was just a reaction to the meds - they did do an EKG and it was fine. My breathing's fine now and my cough's getting better. On a different antibiotic and they also prescribed anti-nausea meds. Crazy, huh?? It's one big soap opera at my house. :rotfl:

Anywho... I'm ok and trying to get my strength back before Saturday. I really hope we run into each other. :grouphug:

Aww, Im so sorry you have been having such a hard time. That sounds VERY scary! I am a Hypo, so I am always worried about something to me, I couldnt imagine having to go thru what you have been thru! I Hope everything is okay with you now.

I know we are planning to be on the POLY beach on one Aug 30th to watch the fireworks with a few other Dissers..you should come!! You will be staying there anyway!:thumbsup2

So glad that your feeling better!! Keep up your strength!

Let us know how your package tracking goes! I still thinking that I may end up taking our stuff, if it doesn't weigh too much in the duffle bag. I also do not want the baby food jars to get broken.

We can take 4 bags with us, so I may use one for me, one for DH, one for DS, then pack one with all of our baby supplies. At least I could use that one for souvniers on the return trip, since all the supplies would be used up.

Anyway, I bet your getting exited! Take Care!!!:)

I am feeling so much better, and thankfully have accomplished a lot today. Aubree's clothes are packed, as are mine! I still have to pack the carry-ons. :thumbsup2

DH has PROMISED me that he will pack on Wednesday or Thursday night. He is well known for procrastinating and packing at midnight before we leave. DRIVES ME NUTS! His father has predicted that DH will be packing at 4AM on 8/30 - and we leave for the airport at 6AM. :lmao:

4 days and 12 hours!!

:dance3:

I am actually going over to DBF's house before I leave on Friday to pack for him, because otherwise I know he will leave it to the last minute and just throw a toothbrush and three pairs of underwear in a bag
I am glad you are feeling better!! Let's hope for sunny skies all next week!

I hope I see you! Don't mind me if I get flustered over meeting a celebrity!!! :rotfl:

I was writing the date on the chalkboard at school today and totally thought of you guys! "Betsy's trip is coming up SOON!!"

Can't wait to hear all about it!!

I've already started praying that Hurricane Gustav stays far away from Orlando... just wanted you to know...;)

Thanks, Susie! I do think of you, Matt & the kids often. We really need to get the girls together. Aubree needs a friend!

Yesterday, I went in to get her out of her crib, and she had been rolling around being silly. I had heard giggling and movement, so I went in saying, "are you having a party in here?" She replied, "we're having cake?" I tell you - she is obsessed with cake!!

  4 days!!

In other news... we're going to see how Aubree does on this trip, and could potentially book the bounceback free dining for next year!!! Keeping my fingers crossed.
