We chased the teepee man today and he's gone and let someone else have it! I'm veering between being close to tears and seething mad. I know we should have chased him before, but both Tam and Jules said he was dilatory in his dealings with them and he said he'd got it all written in his diary, so we weren't unduly concerned. Now he says he took a booking for it a week ago and he's "very sorry".

I am so hopping mad about this, the bloke is an idiot, he was very half soaked when I spoke to him, to tell him that Deb and Tam wanted the Tipi and Yurt, he was like yes thats fine, this is why I wasn't too worried that he hadn't confirmed with Deb and Matt, I should have known better, I am going to go and head butt the wall !!

I just don't know, Nat - we're going round and round in circles. We don't want to stay in a B&B when everyone else is staying on the site and, as we said all along, we really don't want to stay in a tent. It all seems so unfair - we thought we'd booked it weeks ago and now someone else who only booked it a week ago gets to have it. I know it was only a provisional booking, but because we knew he took so long getting the booking form to Tam, we just assumed the same thing had happened. He wrote it all down in his diary and said that he was busy for a few days, but that he'd get the booking form to us as soon as he could.

give us his address and we'll go round and sort him out - we can camp on his drive until he gets his tepee out. no, seriously I hope you get it sorted soon, if you have to B&B it won't be the same but we'd still have a laugh (and you'd definately have somewhere to plug the straighteners in)

it is very unfair Deb, it is also unfair that Tam and Kev will now be in a Yurt opposite complete strangers in a tipi when they should be opposite their best friends, they will feel like throwing rotton tomatoes at them !!

omg! so the tipi people are on the same site as us? I didn't realise that! thats awful, we can't be singing disney songs around the campfire with, for all we know, Disney grinches!

yes Carol, he has sited a yurt and a tipi oppsite each other, Tam and Kev in the yurt and Debs tipi opposite ! he ahs sited them near to the camp fire, I think it is intended to be a permanent feature.

maybe he should warn his other renters that they will be encroaching on a large group booking, it may be enough to put them off, after all if he was a hotel he'd have to inform people they may be kept up all night by rowdy gangs - and we WILL be rowdy if he doesn't shift them!

The problem is, the site owner and the guy who rents the teepees are different people (at least, that's my understanding). If they were one and the same, this whole situation would probably never have arisen.

thats right Deb, they are two different people, one guy owns and runs the site, and he has obviously come to some agreement with the Tipi Man who runs his own business, allowing him to site a tipi and a yurt there.

Panic over! The teepee man's phoned to say we can have the 8 berth teepee in the bottom field. Could be a blessing in disguise if the weather isn't on our side. Partee in the teepee!
