Today I was opening my mail at work and there was an envelope from Spago. I figured it was from their marketing department announcing some event that I'm not interested in going to, but I opened it up anyway.

Inside was a credit card receipt for $200 and gift card receipt and a gift card for $200. No note, no name on the receipt, nothing. So I ask my assistant to call and find out what it is. She comes back and says it's a gift for me from John Doe (not the real name) and that he called in the order and asked them to mail it to me.

One problem, I don't know anyone by that name. It's kind of freaking me out. We went through all our client and vendor databases and there is no one by that name. The gift was purchased last Friday and no one has called for me since then that I didn't know.

What would you do?

Sounds like you have a secret admirer!

Enjoy a nice meal at Spago on your newfound gift card. I'll be in Cali in 2 weeks if you need someone to join you! :rotfl:

The person probably didn't give their real name when they bought it so no real way to track it.

I'd keep it, and Pay It Forward.
