I need ideas for inexpensive gifts for co-workers. I'm a teacher, and I work with 6 other teachers in our department. Every year we get each other small gifts. I've run out of good ideas. Anyone have any creative ieas?

I usually bake something. Small loaves of chocolate pumpkin chocolate chip bread went over great one year.

I know our Old Navy has fleece scarves for $1/ea this Saturday - that would be a great gift idea!

I came to post the same question. I have a few co-workers that I am close to but I don't have funds to spend allot on each of them.

I'll be watching for some ideas. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I'm not a teacher like the OP, I'm a mail carrier. TIA!!!

One year I gave a few of the teachers cute christmas mugs filled with candy and a few scratch off lottery tickets. I bought the mugs at the $1 store and wrapped them up in cute christmas cellophane bags to make a very nice presentation. Giving scratch offs gives a chance for a much bigger "gift" if they happen to win.

I have an idea but it's more for fun. Don't do gifts now but get together for lunch after Xmas but before you return to school from the holidays. It doesn't have to be a fancy place, perhaps a good sandwich shop or a diner.

Now for the gift part. Each of you will take one of the worst presents that you've received this year, either from friends, family or a student. Wrap it up as fancy as can be and do a gift exchange. Every one puts their gifts in a pile and numbers are given out to each person who contributes a gift. # 1 chooses first and # 2 can either steal a present from some one who has already picked or choose one from the pile. If you've already picked and your gift is stolen you may choose to replace it with one of the ones that are left on the table or steal from some one else.

The last person to go can either take the last gift or steal from any one else. If the last person chooses to steal, the one they stole from is stuck with the one on the table and the game ends. Next each person takes a turn opening the gift in front of everybody and showing off the "treasure".

This is a really fun way to take your "trash" and hopefully turn it into some one else's "treasure". Either way it's a barrel of laughs and the fun you have will make up for the lack of treasure that is the actual gift.

Sometimes it's the laughter that is shared that is the best gift of all.

I hope that helps!

a couple of ladies at work give christmas socks or really fuzzy socks that are super comfy or just silly socks.

one lady gave little sachets of spoil-yourself-toiletry type things like face masks etc.

how about mini booze bottles or some hot chocolate powder sachets with a mini baileys in a nice mug or make chocolate spoons by melting chocolate onto plastic spoons then wrap in cello.

make rice crispy sqaures and dip in melted choc then roll in candy or put on red and green sprinkles. or do marshmallows on a stick.

I buy silly supplies for my friends (colleagues...)

fun post it notes in people's intials/ clever sayings

magnets for white boards, etc.

hand santizer (or lotion for use after all the hand sanitizer)

egg timers for when students are working and you tell them "five minutes"

stickers for kids' papers

stamp pad and stamp

Here are some ideas:

* purse sized/key chain sized flashlight
* aluminum water bottle
* ice scraper/yankee candle caar ir freshener
* coffee gift card

Love the Old Navy scarf idea! May have to venture there myself for that. Also, love the white elephant yankee swap!

Last year I found holiday fleece throws left over from Black Friday on sale at K-mart for $2.99 each. I gave them to several coworkers. The blankets were really nice. This year I'm baking cookies and putting together an assortment.

So am I :hug:
Something I can think of, is the nice metal water bottles. I've seen them for less than $5, once even for $2, and they come in tons of colors. They could work for male or female.

This year, we bought Bath & Body Works PocketBac Hand Sanitizers in the holiday scents & added a holder. Total spent $1.50 per gift. We used the B&B cello bags & ribbon. Cute little appreciation gift for little cash. Good luck!

I just bought Bath & Body Works travel size body wash & lotion pre-wrapped in cellophane for $5.00. Its very cute and ready to give.
