Gifts for boy 8 and 9 years old

We have a trust that we are shopping for a couple of families for Christmas and all that is listed for the 8 year old and 9 year old boys are any toys, remotes. What kind of remotes do you think they are talking about? And what toys do 8/9 year old boys like? Help?

My DS 9 loves these books, and the only thing under the tree for him this year is a BIG nerf gun, and a LOT of legos.

Ill put in another vote for the Diary of a wimpy kid books, my son has read all of them and loves them!

Anything nerf! If these are going to the same house, the nerf dart tag system, would be something you could give to both, and then they could play together. I know walmart has a deal on those right now.

I also say a razor scooter.
