A few weeks ago, I read a post talking about the process of gifting a DVC membership and I can't find the link now. Can anyone tell me what my relatives need to do to make it OURS?!? Woohoo! Thanks so much!

Assuming WDW, the process is simple but assumes it's a gift and not a sale of any type. Have them contact DVC for the instructions. There will be a form to fill out to "change the names". Send that form in and DVC will give you a ROFR paper. You then need to record this and a deed. You can do a quit claim or warranty deed and you can easily record it yourself for Orange County. After the deed is recorded, send a copy of the recorded deed back in with a different form which they will supply. They will have to attest it's a gift for the ROFR to be automatic and for the qualified status to remain intact. As I understand it, it's illegal in FL (and all states I know of) to falsify the sale price. So putting it as a gift when there's actually an under the table sale would be illegal. Normally any pending reservations are canceled with a sale but not if one of the names remains the same. I'm unsure what would happen with a gift but I would guess than pending reservations would not be canceled.
