Gift ideas for younger teen boys?

I am having a super hard time coming up with ideas for my DS. He's going to be turning 13 right before christmas (OMG. How did that happen?! 13. ) He is a gamer, mostly PC games like Minecraft. Not athletic. He's over the Lego stage.

He doesn't seem to have any ideas on things he would like and I'm really clueless this year, for the first time ever. So, I need some awesome ideas! What are you getting for the younger teen boys in your life this year?

I think we will be getting DS almost 12 a DS2 this year. I am iffy about this because he has never really been into the hand held games, but the only other thing is has been talking about is a Playstation 4 and that is not in the budget this year.


I my daughters are thinking about getting him a new Ipod or Kindle Fire. He has an Ipod but wants a new one for the recent download.

My ds just turned 13 his requests for his birthday were
Itunes card
Microsoft points
Steam card (for online PC games)
I hated to get him just video game type gifts but that was really all he wanted.

To give you some other ideas for Christmas he asked for the current generation ipod touch, and a new pair of headphones (for when he is gaming on the pc).

One of our favorite online stores is ThinkGeek. He always sees things on there. He saw a pillowcase which has a hood built in which is kind of neat and I know he would use all the time. Another thought I had was cordless headphones for his ipod.

How about a G-Shock watch? hoodie, book, fastfood gift cards, lottery tickets, draw string back pack, camera

We bought our son at about that age gift certificates to Subway and Chipotle. He was always asking me to take him, and it was a strain on my wallet. Now he has the card in his wallet, and when he asks, I can take him. He eats pretty much non-stop. (He got other things, but I doubt your son wants bearings for a skateboard).

My son is 15. He is a big PC gamer. Hardly plays his xbox. He would like to upgrade his motherboard $280 for Christmas

Does he have an ipod touch? I don't know your budget, but an ipad mini would be a great choice, too.

Beats (headphones), hoodie, itunes card, gaming chair or points/dollars to add to his Minecraft account?

Would he have any interest in an instrument? Maybe 1 month music lessons.

Minecraft Legos (my 12yr old doesn't play with Legos like he used to but he still wants these)

Electric Guitar (wants to learn, already plays cello & trombone)

Headphones - wants Beats, not sure if he'll get those

DS13 got a ventriloquist dummy last Christmas. His request, of course.

DS18 has a "gaming" keyboard for his computer. Not sure of the advantages, for things like Minecraft, probably minimal, but it might be something to look at.

My DS12 turning 13 next month wants video games for PC, 3ds, and Wii U. Thats it! Though he would like a new pair of head phones for gaming since he broke his.( Turtle beach or beats) I also got him posters for his room(minecraft, etc.). Last year I bought him a bow and arrow. It's hard because his b-day is after Christmas(1/02). So I'll get him some PC hardware stuff for his b-day. Gaming chair sounds good too.
