Anyone have good suggestions for things to purchase in the parks to bring back to people as thank yous or "I was thinking of you" gifts?

Nothing expensive but small (and easy to pack).

We want to bring things back for grandparents, aunt/uncles, friends, and a few coworkers who have been so excited for us to go. :goodvibes:

My go-to gift from WDW are the Mickey Rice-Krispie treats. Easy and light to pack, yummy to eat and the receiver doesn't have to store the item anywhere but in their tummy. :rotfl:

Great idea! Those are PERFECT for coworkers and my kids' friends. :) Thanks for the idea!!

Will spend a little more on the grandparents and aunt/uncle. :) Anyone else with "go to" park gifts?

For co-workers we have bought those 5 pack of pens that have the characters on it and say Walt Disney world. Each got a pen from the pack. Also have done magnets but that can add up if you have alot of co-workers.

My mom always asked for a Create your own rice crispy treat from goofy's candy kitchen. :goodvibes

My inlaws we buy the variety pack of the Mickey coffee or the can of coffee. The can makes a good gift to continue to use after the coffee is gone.

I know some folks bring back souvenirs from trips for others back home, but we stopped doing that years ago. I don't care for them from others usually (my in-laws used to do this and I really didn't want another bag of coffee from Hawaii, when I was going there myself and don't buy it there either usually, or a tee shirt, etc....).

When we did do it a long time ago, we didn't do it from Disney usually. Their souvenirs are quite pricey. But.... for kids you could do the Mickey lollipops.

For adults, you'd have to think, do they really want and/or need it? Or do they just want to know you went and had a good time? Or, if it's grandparents, would they like a nice framed small photo of their grandchildren on vacation (photopass photo and nice small frame you could even buy at TJMaxx at home ahead of time).

For co-workers, do you always exchange souvenirs any time someone goes on vacation? Or, are you so excited (who wouldn't be in their right mind, going to my happy place?) that maybe you think they want something from there, but maybe they don't really care that much? Just a thought.

There used to be a Character Warehouse at one of the outlet malls. I dragged my DH there once for Disney stuff. They had things from the previous season much cheaper than at the parks, but you'd eat up vacation time shopping (which I hate to do).

Our kids (now aged 14-20) have spent our WDW vacations finding gifts for each other in as clandestine way as possible as well as for friends and relatives. But it helps if people like Disney and appreciate the sentimental value. We've found that some family/friends who rarely go to WDW appreciate softer disney stuff rather than, say, Mickey Mouse ears.

I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, so lollipops, pens, krispy treats are perfect to bring back to people who have been really excited for us are keep asking us about our trip. :cutie:

I think for my in-laws, I want it to be something that says, "I wish you could have come." A photo might work but they already have so many - but I'm sure I'll find something.

All our friends and family love candy so we get them the small assortment box of chocolates with Mickey head truffles in them..I think they're $10.

For the inlaws you can make a personalized Christmas ornament from the Christmas shop in DTD.

I brought home flexible plastic cutting mats for my sisters. I got them at POP for about $3 each. The ones I purchased are clear, with brightly colored (lime green, hot pink, orange, bright blue) mickey heads on them, but there were several patterns. I use mine all the time for cutting veggies, slicing bread, etc. They were affordable and easy-peasy to pack; I just put them down flat in the bottom of the suitcase before packing. They took up no space and added no weight to my luggage!

:)I purchased leather luggage tags from the Canadian pavillion had the names placed on them for free. I think they were $5....that was several years ago...they probably charge for the engraving now.

If you have a Disney Visa you could get a pic with Mickey for the Grandparents...or maybe one of the meal photos or just order a photopass pic when you get back--they also put the photo on objects.

I no longer purchase souvenirs for family and give them a photo instead--Only one of my co-workers brings back souvenirs and that is when she travels to Scotland to visit family. I never know if other folks are not able to take vacation and I feel like I am rubbing it in their faces or something--so I just stopped--and it is nice to go now and not have to spend the time or money looking for things. Dh and I rarely buy anything on our trips to WDW anymore.

Of course I said I would NEVER buy a Vinylmation yet Valentine Mickey sits in his red box on my desk at work :sad2:
