I am having the hardest time figuring out what to get my Dad this year. He is 64 and doesn't have any hobbies.

He fights technology, but once he gets something, he seems to enjoy it. He has a laptop, cell phone and digital camera. He's on my cell phone plan and it's not a smartphone and we won't be upgrading to that, so that is definitely out. He doesn't read, so a Kindle is of no interest.

I'm looking for under $100 range, actually probably closer to $50 since I already bought him some clothes and something else so I've spent close to $50 already.

Anyone have any off the wall ideas?

To be honest I've given up the fight with both my parents. I'm strictly a gift card given to them. Sometimes a casino voucher as they enjoy going to the casino. But besides that I pick a restaurant or sometimes their favorite hotel and buy.

My dad is also difficult (almost 60) but this year I think I nailed it! I had a wooden sign made for him that says, the only thing better than you bring my dad is you being my kids' Papa. Also, he recently discovered The Big Bang Theory so I was able to score seasons 1 and 2 for $8 each during Amazon lightning deals.
Last year I got him a self sharpening Rachael Ray chefs knife and a butter crock, both of which he uses almost every day.

Hope any of that helps!

The older men are always the hardest for me to shop for!!! My Dad especially!!!
I haven't bought him a gift yet. I am stumped! I've gotten him gift cards in the past. Or clothes. :confused3 I would love to hear suggestions as well!!

I'm getting my parents season passes for Silver Dollar City, maybe something similar- a subscription to a point of interest near his home?

I got my newly retired dad a couple of puzzles. I figure he has the free time, maybe he'll do them, lol.

Is he a cooker at all? BBQ accessories (what I got my dad)? Would he like a Netflix subscription? (My Dad doesn't have a computer or I was going to do that).

Anything that needs to be replaced?

My Dad is always the hardest for me, too.

How about a Netflix subscription and/or a Roku box (the Roku if he doesn't have a SmartTV or smart blu-ray player)? You could maybe do a 6-month subscription for Netflix and he can continue it if he chooses to.

A digital picture frame? Everyone seems to have one but me. LOL

He may enjoy a little bundle from Omaha Steaks if he likes to grill.

Car washes? Car detailing? (though a detail would be much more money)

I did Omaha Steaks for my impossible to buy for father in law one year and he LOVED it.

I agree: get food!

Last year I went to Trader Joe's and got my mom a basket of assorted foods-- snacks, soups, you name it. She loved it.

I also made a book of "remember when" stories. I asked all my siblings for stories or catch-phrases from our childhood, typed them up, added some clip art, and put it all into a binder for mom. (I emailed each of my sblings a copy too.) It was a huge hit.

My husband is also hard to buy for. He loves the photo books from Shutterfly with pictures of the kids and vacations. He also like collage pictures.

Your Dad might enjoy extra memory cards for his camera or an external hard-drive to store/backup the photos he takes.

I always get my dad a movie theater gift card. He really enjoys going to the movies, and this allows him to afford it. I've asked him if there is anything else he would like but he says he really likes the movie gift card.
