Gift Horse...or Simply Bad Housekeeping?

Oops....Last trip we made it all the way to Georgia when we remembered that we forgot to take our ice cream out of the freezer...don't think that the ice cream found was ours....we had already made quite a dent in it!
(We did get everything else cleared out...just forgot the freezer!):smooth:

Hmmm....how long ago was your trip? Perhaps we did get the villa featuring your ice cream amenity! What flavor was it? "Ours" was plain ol' garden variety vanilla. If only it could have been mint chocolate chip, I may have been tempted to taste...if not devour!

We left a container of Edy's heath bar ice cream...and my son hasn't let me forget that he didn't get to finish it:bounce:

I think it`s a nice thought to leave UNOPENED food or beverages for housekeeping. This is our first trip as DVC owners, and the thought has crossed my mind, since we plan on just having Breakfast, whatever is left over at the end of our vacation, ( not used, that is), will certainly be left for them!,along with a nice gratuity! Question?!,: will we have the same housekeeper for cleaning, as well as trash & towel day??

On the other side of the coin, I`m sure hoping that when we check in, we don`t find someone`s half finished meal!!!!:crazy:LOL

thanks,

To me, this all ties back to posts I've read in which people say that since Mousekeeping only cleans their room every few days, they either don't tip or leave only a pittance.

The problem is that the DVC housekeepers must make the same salary as the other resort housekeepers (and in some locations work both DVC and non-DVC rooms). If they've gotten the idea that DVC residents are lousy tippers compared to regular residents, well, that's pretty demotivating.

I'm not saying that we should all tip the same as if our rooms are cleaned every day. But we should recognize that our rooms are larger and more complex to clean up before we arrive (kitchens, jacuzzis etc.), and if we want a minimum-wage staff to take excellent care of us we should be a little bit generous, not a little bit stingy.

Totally agree!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

We preheated the oven in our Beach Club home one evening to fix dinner, and when we went to put the food in, we found a tray of Bagel Bites in there.

I have to admit that I left expressed milk along with a cooler and ice packs in the freezer once at OKW. Thought about calling to see if they could FedEx it to me when we got home, but decided to just count it up as a loss. Though that stuff IS liquid gold...

We also left my husband's glasses and pillow at HHI. Called them from the road and the FedEx package was to us the next business day. No charge either!!:D

Gee, we're a forgetful bunch, aren't we?
