I need some gift ideas for a 5 year old girl. I would like to stay around $20 if possible. Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Stuffed Animals
Barbie Dolls, clothes, accessaries
Polly Pocket
My Little Pony
Books
Journal type writting tablets
Kids Bob CD's
DVD
Anything Princess

Tons of stuff for that age at under $20.

Anything Polly Pockets, Littlest Pet Shop, Barbie, princess. Go to a ToysRUs store and head to the pink section. Grab just about anything, because that's the perfect age for there!

How about a Brat Doll --- one with a really short skirt and her tummy showing? :stir:

Okay I was just kidding...

My five year old just picked out a present for her friend and she loves it so much she hopes her friend will remember and give her one for her birthday too.

It's a Pucci Pup -- little stuffed dog in a "carrying case" with accessories, a little outfit, jewelery, leash, collar, magnetic dog biscuit, little bows. It was around 16.00 - I think - and pretty sweet.

bubble bath
markers
band aids -the princess or some other girly character
barrettes or scrunchies
a pack of computer paper -really they usually love to color or paint
watercolors
scotch tape
jewelry
if you know she likes to help in the kitchen -her own measuring cups/spoons
and an apron

bubble bath

I would stay away from this unless you know for sure the girl uses it. My dd & lots of other little girls we know aren't allowed to use this. Per the Pedi, causes to many problems in the "little girl region" ;) .

That sounds like a cute idea. Where did you get it?

<Thanks all for the suggestions, I am not ruling anything out at this point. Keep the ideas coming!>

I guess I am going to have to make a trip to Toys R Us with you ideas in mind. I need to have the gift, wrap it and mail it north within two weeks, so I think my best bet would be to see if I could find it in a store.

Great ideas all, thanks!

At Target - I think it was in with the stuffed animals - or near theHoney Bunch Dolls

Like I said - my 5 year old loves it (we got her one for her B-day - it is hiding)

DD's favorite gift at Christmas was a small purse with sequins on it, with $1 inside! :rotfl2:

The purse probably came from a second hand store and cost $2, so SIL got off cheap!

DD just turned 5 and we got her a Dora Big Sister doll. She has two little babies and a sling to carry them around in. She sings to them and DD just went bonkers over it. We are soooo into Dora :)

Another big thing right now are the Doodle Bears. They are really cute fabric teddies that come with markers. They just doodle all over the bears, when they are finished, Mom throws it in the washer and voila!, you have a clean slate!
DD got the glow in the dark variety from Santa and loves it.
