Okay some time ago I read a message board or blog or something, which talked about having Tinkerbell or some other character delivery small gifts for kids each night. Supposedly this cut down on souvenir costs in the park by purchasing small items prior to arriving at the parks. Has anyone ever done this and if so what types of items did you do?

We usually do this on our trips and dd loves it! We buy things like:
Pajamas
Beach towels
Glow Sticks
Stickers
a letter from a Character
sand toys (depending on resort)
Beach ball
Disney fruit snacks
pressed penny tubes
Sunglasses
Disposable camera
colouring books
Disney light spinners from target

You could do anything really. Good luck!

Thank you! So are the kids usually satisfied to wait and see what they get for the next delivery rather than buy whatever souvenir has caught their eye at the moment?

For the most part yes. However there definitely are things bought through out the trip. Though if dd finds something in the store that she wants in the moment then I will tell her to wait and see if Tink brings it before the end of the trip and if not we will buy it on the last day (by then she usually forgets about most of the things she wanted). Then on the last day when there is only one or two things that she's waiting to see if Tink brings I will go and buy them without her knowing and that will be the gift from Tink on the last day.

I am a bargain shopper. And I LOVE shopping but won't buy something without a reason to. So I was excited that DH agreed it would be fun to get a few things ahead of time for our trip. Might be from Tink, might be to build excitement before the trip or in the car...

So far I have new disney PJs for each kid (on clearance and purchased with kohls cash (so, free), and stuffed animals from Kohls Cares line. I also found a Pixar look-and-find book that will be great for the road trip!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for stickers glowing or light up toys, t-shirts and movies
