Gift Cards ?

If you belong to bjs they have $ 100 ones there for $96. If you get them on bjs online i think they are $1 cheaper with free shipping and its possible you may be able to buy them without a bjs membership..you'ld have to double check that.
Yup, and if you have a Discover card they are presently giving 5% cash-back bonus for purchases at warehouse clubs. Buying cards right now lets me save over 9% for my upcoming vacation on lots of costs if I'm willing to prepay. (Like Acc says, using the gift card web site is key if you're acquiring lots of physical cards and you want to combine them.)
Sam's Club has a slightly smaller discount, so right now bjs.com is my go-to source.

You can also add them to the disneygiftcards.com website and add more funds that way, transfer to combine cards, etc.. if target doesnt' ahve a $100 card then get 2 50s and combine them in the website.
Target does have $100 Disney Gift Cards online (I have seen them in store previously also. With a Target credit or Debit card they are $94.99 at 5% off. I purchased 8 $100 cards online for our upcoming trip and paid $760. Saved $40.

At Target I think they only have $50 cards but at the park you put on whatever you want. So yes I guess you prepay for them.

I've bought $100 gift cards at Target. They are white with Mickey and Minnie on them. I'm going to see if they have any at my store.

So Target doesn't sell these in the physical stores anymore?

Target sells the $50 gift cards in stores.

Be sure to buy them before you reach Orlando. Most Targets in the area aren't able to keep them in stock - they get sold out quickly.

Our local Target has only had the $50 cards lately. Last week I bought $250 in cards and had to go to several cashier lines to find them all. They seemed to be in short supply these past few weeks.

I'm not sure it was mentioned, but you don't have to apply for a Target Red Card credit card. There is a debit card option too. I use the debit card because I didn't want another store credit card and I don't shop at target often, only for the Disney gift cards before a trip.

Me too! I use my Target debit card only because I'm done with credit cards. I need to get on the ball with getting these gift cards because summer is coming fast and other people might start getting the same idea.:tiptoe:

Yep, I tend to hit my local Target on my way home from work each payday and pick some up.

To your original question - gift cards are sold EVERYWHERE in Disney World. They can be found at most cash counters (with the exception of restaurants) and you choose from a small variety of designs and put whatever dollar amount you like on them - the minimum amount being $5.

I too am Canadian and jealous that we can neither get the cards ahead of time or get the discount so many of our American friends take advantage of at Target.

I've been ordering $100 gift cards from Target.com in $1000 increments and combining on the Disney web site.

@disneybree ~ When in the parks, be sure to plan on purchasing the gift card by using your credit card or cash. You cannot purchase a gift card by charging to your room account via your MagicBand. It's because charges on your room account aren't immediately processed so Disney doesn't allow this.

I'm buying $900/month to pay for our trip in August.

Went to one of the Targets in the area. They had 5 $100s, and I bought the rest in $50s... or I tried to. The manager told us that there was a $500/day limit. I've never run into this before; we just bought $900 a few weeks ago (I wait until the billing period ends to get more). Anyone ever heard of a limit?

That could be that stores policy if they are getting complaints about running out. Most store don't limit you on the amount of cards you want to buy.

Curious if you buy thousands in gift cards, saving 5% from Target, can you use them to pay for the onsite packages? So you get more of a discount on top of the current free dining and room discounts? Nice way to save up during the year, if that discount is better than CC rewards.

Hang on. There's a better way than Target (I think).

BJ's website offers a $100 gift card for $94.99. That's 5%. Add a 1% of the purchase price from ebates on top. Use a cashback card like Discover or Citi Double Cash (2%) to make the purchase.

The highest amount I bought at one time was $500, however I always go through self checkout so I don't run into someone telling me I'm buying too many.

At my local Sam's there is a sign right next to the $500 cards that says "limit one". I won't buy from Sam's since they raised the price of the $500 cards from $474.98 to $479.98.

My local target has $100 gift cards. Not always in stock. Only in the back where they have the gift cards. All the ones at the register are $50 gift cards. Bought some just two weeks ago.

Ours is the same way. When they do have the $100s in stock, they usually only have ten out at a time. And for some reason, they keep the Disney cards at the very bottom of the display.
