Gift cards?

Can I use Disney gift cards to pay for food/dining at DLR? I loved using them at WDW it saved me the hassle of carrying so much cash. TIA

Yes you can ~ I love Disney GCs. I add $$ to my DGCs by calling DelivEARS ~800-362-4533 *you give the CM your credit/debit card info and they mail you the receipt. Last time I did this *last month* the $$ was on the GC the next day.

I've just started to get in the habit of getting gift cards (just little ones - $25 here, $25 there) to set aside for future trips. If I keep cash on hand I am too tempted to spend it on something else. At least I know that once I get the gift cards, that money is going to Disney one way or another (and the cards are versatile because they can be used for DLR tickets, for DLR food, for DLR hotels, for DLR merchandise, for the Disney Store, for PhotoPass orders, for WDW, etc.). Also, there's no shipping/postage fee applied with the mailing option I select on the DLR website. No tax, no shipping - it's great!!

(I am a little more leery now that I found out the dining plan vouchers were not accepted everywhere ...)

It's better to be safe than sorry! I checked the Disney Gift Card website, and found this link that elaborates a bit more:

Interestingly, in the small print it says, essentially, that the gift cards can be used at any restaurants except Taste Pilots Grill (why leave that one out??) and fruit carts. I just used a gift card at a fruit cart last December - I asked the CM first if I could use it and he said yes. I bought pineapple spears and orange juice. Also, I'm pretty sure Taste Pilots Grill was not excluded from gift card coverage last year. So I am guessing they must have just made these changes to the fine print in 2010.
