I have seen many a posts on Credit Cards, Disney Dollars, and Room charge keys being able to be used at WDW food carts. I love to carry gift cards, they seem easier to haul around and can be used pretty much everywhere including DTD.

My questions is, I can't remember from my trip last year if the food carts / gift carts take Disney Gift Cards or not?

We just got back from our trip & used those cards for everything. It was especially nice at F & W in Epcot. Only one time I couldn't use it, but I think there was something wrong with his machine ( after a storm! ).Next time we go with gift cards, I think I will charge everything to my room & then pay the balance off with the cards. Less things to carry to the parks, especially when you have a DH that lost his wallet on the last day!! But yes, we used them everywhere.

That is GREAT news, thank. That is also my fear...loosing a wallet. I figure grabbing a couple $50 cards that I can carry with me would at least minimize the risk. I don't like to charge a lot because you can quickly loose track of exactly how much you are spending and run a very big bill up very quickly...at least with gift cards, when one runs out, you know how much you have spent to that point!

So am I reading your post correctly, you can pay off part of your room tab with gift cards??? That's interesting.

When we checked into the Poly the CM asked me if I wanted a credit card held to make charges to the room which I always do. I asked her if I charged to my room, could I come down to the desk & pay for it with my gift cards before it got charged to my Visa. She said sure, as long as I didn't reach my limit first ($1500:scared1: ) or that I would need to pay it the night before check out. Worked out fine & I am planning on doing it that way again.
