Hi,

As i'm not from the Florida area i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best place to get a gift card for the Disney 'helpers'?

From my previous trips i was thinking Golden Correl or Sizzler cards. Would this be the best to get? Has anyone else brought gift cards and how much did you get them for?

I didn't want to get Disney vouchers as they proberly have everything they want from Disney and they get their own discount :rotfl:

Thanks:thumbsup2

Disney GC might be nice for lunch or something!! Since they work there they don't get a lot of the amenities that we do! I hadn't even thought about what to get my wedding planner. I'm not a huge fan of hers... maybe a lump of coal???

:rotfl: Val you are hysterical!!

I am not a the point of thinking about it yet but I was going to do maybe a nice restaurant or Amex GC so they can spend it how they want. HTH!

I would also do AMEX. This way they can pick what they want from anywhere they want.

I would not give a disney CM a disney GC! Just me. I work/ed there and I would not want one! When you work at Disney, you don't really go to Disney on your time off.

Also, not golden corral or sizzler. Only tourists eat in those places. I agree with getting an AMEX card because it's more useful in other places. :)

No need to tip/gift if it's not merited! :thumbsup2

What is an AMEX card and where do i get one from?

I'm not going to get one from my planner because as an Escapes bride she hasn't done anything for me. My travel agent in the UK has arranged it all with her.

I was just going to get the gift card for Rosie at Disney floral. Shes been so unbelievably helpful. Considering i'm in the UK shes replied to all of my emails within a day or two and i've sent her loads of pictures and she makes me feel really confident that things will turn out perfect. :wizard:

Twiu did you ever get anything given to you e.g gift cards from people that you really liked?

Do you know what where Disney workers usually eat?

Thanks

I never got anything but I work in entertainment so we don't really deal with guests. Um... I would do something like Carrabas, Macaroni Grill (they're nicer food chains here in the US). But the AMEX is the best idea - its just a pre paid American Express (like the credit card) but it can be used anywhere http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/page/0,1641,16130,00.asp

Also, when you get to the states, you can go to any drugstore (walgreens or cvs) and they have racks of gift cards that you can get from any restaurant, store, etc. If you don't have a car, let me know... I'll pick one up for you and deliver to your resort when you're in town - seriously!

Twiu you are too kind :worship: I can see why you work for Disney. Thank-you. I think i'll go with the AMEX. I'd never heard of the pre-paid credit card before. I don't think we have it in the UK but its a great idea.

How much do people usually give as a gift card? Is $40 or $50 reasonable?

I think that's fine. Mostly if everything has been done through email.
