I have a gift card to Macy's for $100 and I just can't seem to find anything I want for my toddlers (they received it for Christmas). I would like to try one of these sites that allows you to exchange or sell them, but I am also leery about mailing in my card (the value is higher if done this way). Has anyone tried one of these companies with success? TIA!

they don't exp. - with kids you will need to buy new clothes at some point... I would just keep it.

I think plasticjungle.com is a reputable gift card buyback site. You definitely won't get back what it is worth though, so if you'd use it at all in the future it would be worth saving.

I've used Plastic Jungle. I was nervous about mailing in my gift card too. It took about a month to receive a check in the mail, slightly longer than the website said it would take. Other than taking longer than I expected, I had no problems with them and would use them again.

i used plasticjungle.com last month. I won a $100.00 Victorias Secret card but didn't need anything I turned it in for $84.00 that was deposited to paypal. Between sending it in and getting the money in my account at paypal it was about 2 weeks. Not bad at all. Now $84.00 isn't that great but since I won the VS card I thought it was great.

I have used plasticjungle.com as well. While you don't get the full amount, it is better than having cards sitting around unused.

My first choice is to use the card. Second, to gift it. Third, I use plasticjungle.

If it's Macy's it's good for anything in the store. I'd love to have $100 to spend at Macy's!!

If you can't find anything for the house or other family, I'd save it for Christmas shopping. You can find lots of good "Not sure what to get..." gifts there.

Then just take the $100/cash you would have spent on that stuff and put it towards the stuff for your kids (so they still get their gifts).

I agree with those who say just hang onto the card. Kids always need clothes/shoes/etc so even if you don't find anything you like for your kids there now you might next season. Personally I think Macy's carries some cute kids clothes; I'd have no problem spending $100 on things for my DD there.

I agree with the others. You will take a 16% loss on that card if you sell it to plastic jungle. I'd just hang onto it and if I couldn't find anything that I wanted for the kids, myself or the house, then I would use it to buy birthday/mother's day/holiday gifts.

I don't really care for the toddler section of clothes there. The clothes are just not my style and I prefer Gymboree type outfits for them. They could definitely use new clothes and shoes so I was hoping to just get cash and shop somewhere where I like the clothes. Don't need any home items so it just seems like a waste to buy something I don't really need or want just to get face value. I don't mind losing $20 to use for items I want =) I think I may try the site mentioned here. Thanks!
