Gift card and disney dollars

I posted this on the budget board but didn't get any answers.
I just redeemed mypoints for a $25 webcertificate.
I've never done this before, so if I purchase a $25 Disney gift card, can I use the gift card at the Disney store to purchase disney dollars?

I wanted to do that too, but when I called the Disney Store they said that I couldn't use a gift card to buy Disney Dollars. Maybe they will tell you something differently.

Go to your Webbie account and log in, then print out your information (name, account number, expiration date, balance), take that with you to your local DS and ask them to manually run your number through as a credit card number to get your Disney Dollars. If they say they cant do this then ask for a manager and explain that it is your Mastercard number and show them your DL as proof of who you are. When I did this the lady wanted to know more about how I earned this money. And if the manager still wont do it you can still try another manager on another day....but you shouldnt have any problems doing this.

Ive done this 4 times and never had a problem. Dont get the gift card cause you can't use it for $DD and its not necessary to pay the $^.95 for a plastic card. Just do likeCajunDIxie said and you shouldn't have a problem.

After I tried it I wrote a post on it and quite a few people tried it and so far I haven't heard of anyone having a problem.

It will be awhile before I can do it, there are no Disney stores in my state. I have to wait until we go to Virginia in June. I'll post about it then.
