I was wondering if any parents give their children any disney gift baskets before they go? If so, what did you put in them?

Thanks.

I filled backpacks for my son, nieces and nephew. I put in:
Disney themed disposable camera
Glow bracelets for nightime
Coloring book and crayons
Disney pen for autographs
Snacks (for in the room)
and a note from Mickey welcoming them.
I put them in the room when they were gone. The backpacks were great to carry around in the parks.

I made the boyss boxes filled with goodies, wrapped them in cellophane and shipped them down to the resort ahead of time! It worked out great! I included:
Lots of Disney stuff from Dollar tree: coloring stuff, pens, glow sticks/braclets
Found Disney mini flash lights at Toys R Us
Incredibles gummies from Michaels
Found Car ring pos at Toys R Us
Sale stuff from Disney store: fans, crayons
Disnsey disposable cameras from Walgreens
Ordered Disney Racer Cars from Laughing Place
Disney Fruit snacks

I attached a Mickey gift tag I foung at Hallmark and signed it from Mickey & Freinds wishing them a magical vacation!:)

I was wanting to give my boys a few things in advance but didn't want to pay the extra $ to purchase some of these things online when from what I hear, they are actually cheaper in the parks.

Then this week it occurred to me that the band students at the high school where I teach are going next week for spring break!! One of my students is getting: autograph books, pressed penny books and epcot passports. I will add in Disney dollars when the time comes. She is also sending both boys postcards from their favorite characters saying "Can't wait for you to come visit".

I am so excited to see their faces when they get them right before we leave!!:cool1:  :woohoo:

This is a great idea! I think I will try this for our upcoming trip.
They have Mickey Mouse baskets at Walmart right now. This might be cute to put all the things into.

I stock the backpacks for the plane ride: stickerbooks, magnetic playset, storybooks, new markers/crayons, bathing suit, flip flops, Disney cap etc.

I also like to leave out little surprises from Tink ..... stuff like goggles, jibbitz, quarters/pennies for penny press, pvc plastic character toys, small plush, sunglasses etc.

All of it is stuff I would probably buy anyway for vacation, but this is such a fun and magical way to distribute it!

This is what I do too...but for the 23 hour car ride.

Not exactly a gift basket, but when my kids were little (23 and 27 now!), I gave each one a roll of quarters for the game room at the hotel while we were at home. If they annoyed each other on the car ride down, they had to give one quarter back to me. After each one lost one quarter, they were on their best behavior to keep all the rest of the quarters. So we all had a pleasant ride down from NY, and we would have given them arcade $$ anyway!!

We are going on a non-Disney cruise (shame on me) for a few days before we head to WDW, so I am putting together a box to be shipped to the Disney hotel we are staying at. I will mail it about 5 days before we leave. It includes:
for 11 year old daughter's first trip to WDW:
I put it all in a Mickey Mouse bag for $2.50 at the Disney store
Disney T-shirt I bought for $5 at the Disney store
Pressed penny book from laughingplace.com (about $12.00?)
101 Things You Never Knew about WDW for $13.50 at laughingplace.com
Mickey head Key chain from laughingplace.com for $3.50
Sale at Disney store NOW until 3/16- 30% off - thong like slippers
Disney pajamas
Cinderella's crown sterling silver necklace
Quarters and pennies in photo film canisters for pressed penny book
Gum

for husband:
Dunkin Donuts coffee beans
to- go cups
coffee filters for hotel room
Gum

For everyone:
snack/granola bars
extra batteries
extra memory card for camera
addresses printed on labels for post cards
aloe vera gel
Dollar store ponchos

other ideas I've used for neice and nephew:
Disney baseball cap
sunglasses
Autograph book
Extra large Disney Pen for Autograph book - Dollar store
Disney themed pillow case
trading pins and lanyard
disney socks
Dollar store Disney body stickers
Pal Mickey (I think it is about $60)
