gift basket prices

Does anyone know if the items you can purchase for speciality gift baskets (from the home-owned businesses other than WDW) have marked up prices? I notice that most of them have a standard $25 charge on top of the items. I like that you can pick the items you want and was thinking of surprising my DD with a gift basket. But I don't want to do that if the items in the gift basket are priced higher than just buying them at the gift shops in addition to the $25 charge. Thanks.

The person we use for gift baskets does not mark up her prices. We have used her twice now and the baskets have been great. She is very flexible with items and will hunt for something specific. Her website is www.memoriesbybetsy.com

thanks, I'll be spending enough on this trip. While I would love to surprise my DD with a gift basket with her autograph book, pen, and things we would buy there anyway I really didn't want to pay extra for stuff we would have bought there anyway. I will keep that recommendation in mind.

Betsy also has "different" stuff too. We got a throw in one of our last baskets that was only $10! I am sure she got them as a gift with purchase or something like that but they were really cute and a great deal.

We have used Betsy for our last two trips and she definitely doesn't mark up items. She is very friendly and does a great job!
