Gift Basket Delivery to Ship

We're going on the 4/17 Magic and are planning on having a gift basket delivered to the ship. We'll be using Perfect Gifts, which many people on the boards have posted positive comments about.

I believe I've read that DCL charges a handling fee for the basket. Does anyone know what that fee is?

Also, has anyone had Perfect Gifts include liquor as part of a gift basket? If so, how much more do they charge for it over and above the cost at the store?

I'm thinking the fee was around $12...but don't hold me to that. Hopefully Shirley will see this post.

Shirley will definately help you in any way she can. I ordered 2 baskets from Shirley on our last cruise....one for DH and the other for DSs. She somehow packaged them together and I only paid 1 DCL fee for delivery.

As for the alcohol....we got the beer lovers basket and Shirley's prices were better....plus lesss hassle with bringing it on board.

The only advice I would give people is that ordering food in a basket when you have all that free food on board can sometimes be a little overboard. We ended up taking much of the yummy munchies in the beer lovers basket home with us because we couldn't eat the basket food AND all the other free food on board. Just some food for thought

Hi there,
I just wanted to say that I was so sorry about the delivery charges - Disney once charged $5.00 as all the other cruise ships, but 2 years ago they went up to $12.50 for every item that crossed their docks - Norm and I did everything possible to express the hardship it placed on those that were small business and it was a very unfair practice, but to no avail - so this is why at every opportunity we do tied as much as we can together so I can keep it at one charge.
I wish it was different and I wish I could do something about it, but noone can't say we didn't give it our best shot.
