Ok, who watched it and what do you think??? Someone tell me Prof. Payne is not dead, I love his character!!!

It was really good wasn't it?! Prof. Payne is alive and well (we think and hope) but there were six people on the curb and only five shadows, so who knows??? A great way to end the season finale'!! Did you see one of the executive producers on Dr. Phil the other day? He says strange things happen on the set of Ghost Whisperer quite often and is convinced he has some psychic qualities himself. He's written a book called Ghosts Among Us which I'm excited to read. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I didn't get the whole 5 shadow's thing either.
The guy who plays Professor Payne is getting his own show next season so I am betting they will write him out within the first few weeks of the next season.
Also, I can bet that Melinda's stepfather will come back and try and get her. I thought that the real father would stick around and protect them but I have a feeling the stepfather will come back. Maybe he will kill Professor Payne. (my guess, not a spoiler)

OH, I was afraid of something like that, I had heard Jay Maher may be leaving the show. I really liked his character, I thought he added a lot of comic relief and it was nice for Melinda to have someone to go to who understood her gift and the spirit world. As much as Jim supports her, he knows nothing about the "afterlife" like Prof. Payne.

I think something is going to happen to Jim- that will open JLH up to "love interests" on the show. I hope I'm wrong though- I love the way they interact as a married couple.

Best show I've seen Jay in. Most of the time, I don't really care for his character.

Waaaaaaaaa! I don't want any of them to leave!! I loved the episode last night.

I don't watch TV, except for this show! I'm hooked. Anyway, I'm also hoping that Prof. Payne doesn't die (the 5 shadows). But I'm wondering if Melinda is going to be pregnant next season. Remember she told Jim she was ready to have a baby? I do think it wold be creepy to have her pregnant and working with ghosts, like maybe a ghost would interfere with the baby. I doubt if the writers would do that, but it would still be in my mind if I sa her pregnant and talking to ghosts.

I missed the last show but I have seen previews of new fall shows and he is in one of them. I wonder if he will leave GW or do both?

I too love this show and Jay Mohr's character but I think that his days are numbered. He is headlining a new comedy in the fall and while it's possible that he would be involved in both, it would be difficult.

He had one scene in last night's show and there were two (IMHO) "foreshadowing" events in the scene. His character is always messing around with books and re-arranging things in his office but rarely do they focus in on what he is picking up and moving unless it is significant - last night, when he picked up a pile of books, there was a very quick close up of the books - the book on top was "Ghosts Among us." Second event - when the phone rang, his character said, "if that's for me, I'm already gone" and he walks out of the scene. We don't see his character again until the end.

My last clue that it is him is that, while his character is full of information, he has no "gifts" to speak of. In order for him to see six people and only 5 shadows, he'd have to be "past tense" - otherwise, he'd see six people and six shadows or five people and five shadows.

I haven't felt this way at the end of the season since Melinda's best friend died during the plane crash and no one knew until Melinda hugged her brother at the end of the hour - kind of creepy, sad, and perplexed.

Like I said - just my theories. I'll definitely be back to watch in the fall!!

BkrsLoveDis! I love your theories!

I think the professor is the one who is gone - why else would he notice there were only five shadows?

I saw it. It was weird to say the least.

I feel Melinda and the professor are a little too close sometimes.

I am glad her mom finally came around. Her stepfather was something.

I missed that part. It was the end and everyone was walking so I figured it was done and erased it off my dvr...drat! Good thing I still have dis to read what I missed. :)

I thought this was to pay homage to James Van Praagh, one of the executive producers of the show (and author of the book). It was just released this week and I'm sure it was a bit of a "marketing" ploy.

But I do have to agree that our Good Professor is likely our victim as well....

Did anyone catch the small "tribute" to "I Know What You Did Last Summer" in the recent horror film episode? Jay Mohr is reciting a list of horror movies to Jennifer Love Hewitt and when he said, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" he briefly paused, gave her a funny look, and then went on. My DH and I got a kick out of that!

So- do you think he's already dead (ala the Sixth Sense) or he will die soon?? If he's already dead, why hasn't Melinda said anything??

I love your theories- I bet you're right. :thumbsup2
