ghost reservations will work

Hmm. I don't think that's going to work for people who have booked packages; others have said that tickets are NOT live until you are there at the resort and at the checkin desk.

Also, how are you finding out room numbers?

Many have said that their tickets show up in the MDE account well before check in. That is how they can make FP+ selections. Room numbers can be texted or emailed to you. You set that up during on line check in.

I suppose that if you don't want to do on line check in you would have to go to the resort to check in before anything is active. If you do choose to do on line check in, however, I believe everything is active as of your check in day. The reservations are linked to your MDE profile and that is where the band gets its information.

For those that book a room, books FP+, then cancel the room, I don't think it is going to work. When it gets close to the date of your booked Fastpass+ and you don't have a reservation in the system that coincides with the dates of your Fastpass+ they are subject to being cancelled. You will receive an email a few days before advising you of this and telling you to contact Reservations to book a stay.

It will say:Due to a recent change made to your plans, it appears you no longer have an eligible MyMagic+ Resort reservation, which means your FastPass+ selections for xx/xx/2013 are subject to cancellation on xx/xx/2013.

To keep your FastPass+ selections, by xx/xx/2013, you can link another Resort reservation to your My Disney Experience account.

So unless you can link an active reservation, they are going to cancel.

Remember- that was as of 2 days ago....things can and will change over time. However, as of that point once you have FP+ access you always do. Your MBs are yours to keep and use and reuse- whether offsite or onsite (at this point as of 2 days ago).

Aw maaaan. And I just booked one night for this weekend, but I got the room offsite to save a few bucks vs just 2 days of FP+. If I'd have known we might get it AFTER the stay as well... Let's just say I would be staying onsite if I'd have read this before I booked.

Ah well. Maybe it'll be a good excuse to go again reeeeeally soon... :scratchin

But people aren't cancelling it. They're keeping the reservation and not using th room. Also most people have reported that once you have a Magic Band, you can make and keep FP+ reservations for up to 14 days

So summary below:

Once you get access to FP+ ---even for 1 night ressie- you have access for FP+ for 14 days. OR it MIGHT be access to FP+ based on # of days you have on your tickets. I'm not 100% sure. All I can say is my ressie was for 1 night. I attached a 6 day ticket with only 3 days left. It allowed me to have at least an entire week (6 days) of FP+ anyway.

If your plan is to cancel your ressie and still use FP+ (aka cheating)- word is it won't work. So don't try it. It's wrong anyway.

You don't have to check in to use the FP benefits and your tickets are already linked. However, if you want the parking pass to save the $15 per day- as of now- you do have to show up in person.

I think that covers all we know right now.

This sounds right from what I've read, but just one point...we are still in testing This could all change from what I gather.

I guess I am still wondering how offsite is going to be handled when it goes live and they take out the old machines. There has been so little information on that. Is everyone who stays offsite going to have to book a room for a night to get access to FP+? That's the part that is unknown.

Apparently with AP's you can get 14 days but they don't have to be consecutive. :)

Some people are cancelling and I have no idea where the 14 days came from but that was not our experience. We had to cut our trip short and after I cancelled out the last day I got the email I shared that without a current magic band testing resort reservation my fastpasses for that day would cancel.

Which is as it should be.

And we have annual passes. Basically the only days that I booked that worked were the same as my resort stay.

Also I think everyone needs to realize as Disney finds flaws in the system, they are fixing them. So what happened a week ago or even yesterday, might not apply.
