There's another area of disturbed weather just waiting to crank it up a notch.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Update: Dorian's remnants are still around, and there's a slight chance it might reorganize.

Keep a weather eye out.

Also, NHC just noted a butterfly flitting its wings in Central Asia. They are anticipating this will set off a chain of events that will ultimately result in the first named storm of the 2014 season: Arthur. Current predicted track has it taking dead aim at Cinderella Castle in a mere 11 months. ;)

Does the Beast have anything to do with this? Maybe he's still mad about getting kicked out of Epcot.

He makes earthquakes. Far more unpredictable--mood swings ya know.

Wait, Beast isn't in EPCOT?!

Early? I don't think that "storm" even qualifies for FP+ ressies yet. :)

Noooo! That's the week I'm there!

Seriously, my dad was a meteorologist and the first one to tell me that they really have no idea what the weather will do until after it happens.

This thread is useless without photos!

Seriously, these types of threads serve absolutely no purpose on this forum.

Might be ok for the rumors forum though! ;)

Its never too early for people to start panicking about their vacation plans. :surfweb:

I love watching storms develop. Nope, I'm not running out to buy bread and milk, but I do admit to a fascination in seeing them grow from a small red blob on the NOAA site to a real storm.

I also took my kids to the beach last year, the day before Sandy hit, to see the magnificence of the waves.

So, for what it's worth, I saw this particular storm last night, before this was posted. Not out of fear, simply because I find it interesting. I didn't post because I didn't really see any point in it.

Anyone else share my fascination with storms?

It's now officially a tropical depression.

According to the Weather Channel, there is a slight chance that Puerto Rico may get hit with 45 MPH winds by early next week.

JMO, but please don't cancel your trip to San Juan next week.

I actually thought about posting this--in jest. But early? Yeah, just a wee bit. You must enjoy watching everyone get real nervous. :goodvibes

Agreed.......One has to wonder why anyone would want to get the people who get upset easily, more to worry about........especially this early!

AKK

Absolutely. In reality, I'm a bit of a weather nerd in general and find all of it fascinating.

Except when I get caught out in a strong thunderstorm as I'm halfway done my 3 mile walk home from work. Then I could do without :p.

Me! Weather geek, here. I try and have the weather channel on at home as much as possible. I love hearing about conditions all over the world. I have an obsession with Mother Nature :)

No, it's not time to panic, but now is certainly the time to start making sure you know the drill if you plan to arrive for a trip next week for sure. Don't wait till Monday and start thinking about what you're going to do.
