I hate Ghost Galaxy overlay! I think it is way to scary for kids! We finally got my daughter to agree to go on it and it is the scariest ride ever! Why would Disney do this? I think it is in horrible taste for a such a family friendly place geared for children.

Every ride and attraction doesn't have to be geared towards children. After 10 months of HSM I was glad for the change. The lighting level is much darker, and the effects are less in your face, which makes it closer to the experience of the classic ride. How old is your daughter? Is she past the age where she should know that ghosts aren't real?

My wife didn't like it either. My 11yo daughter thought it was fun, though. Glad my 5yo wasn't there. She scares easy and probably wouldn't want to do it after being in there once. I'm glad it's back to HyperSM when we're there next month.

My daughter's first experience the SM was Ghost Galaxy (at 8 yrs) and she absolutely hated it. It took my brother quite a bit of convincing to get her to try it out at the following Easter. She loves regular SM, but refuses to go on Ghost Galaxy. She says it's too scary.

I love the overlays. Granted Ghost Galaxy isn't my fave. I also don't think every single thing in the park needs to be geared to little kids. Disney is doing just fine in the family friendly department imo.

We don't like it either. We didn't even bother to ride it this last trip (just returned home Wednesday) since it had the Ghost Galaxy overlay. I don't mind the HSM theme, but I can't say that I prefer it to the original.

Agree that everything in the parks doesn't have to be geared to children! That would eliminate a good percentage of the visitors!

I've never been on it and never will. We don't celebrate Halloween. I'm so glad it will be back to Star Wars at the end of our trip.

I don't think it's that scary. Hasn't ever bothered my DD. But we both much prefer the HSM overlay. It's Halloween...it's what they should do.

I have to say I love it. I love hearing the screams at night coming from outside of the ride when I'm in the vicinity.

My son's first coaster was GG at age 3. He loved it so much that we had to ride a couple more times. It started him on his way to being the tween coaster junkie henis today.

There most be a half dozen warnings that Ghost Galaxy featurs effects that "may be too intense for young children" before you get on, and yet it's Disney's bad taste? Yes, we let our then-small child talk us into taking him on it, but we knew what GG was like and knew it was our bad idea if he got scared.

I also admit, I find the overlay cheesy. My favorite overlays aren't visual but audio, I think it's best when they do Rockin' Space Mountian.

I'm one of those who dislike GG, so much so that we only did it once during our 4 day trip last month. Normally it's at least once a day if it's HSM or regular SM.

There are plenty of adults who would disagree with that. And even when you don't believe in something you can still be scared of it. I am, like, 100% sure dinosaurs don't exist anymore, but when I'm at Universal Hollywood and there's a velociraptor *walking* around, I get fairly nervous about it.

We love HSM and SM but not GG. GG is, I don't know, I guess irritating is the way to describe it for me. I don't want an evil demon screaming at me while I am enjoying my already-thrilling-enough rocket ride through space.

When they first did the overlay I remember walking up to Space Mountain and we overheard this guy on the telephone leaving the ride, grown man saying "I will never so on that ride again, it was terrifying! So scary!" and we were thinking "wow, it must really be scary then!" I was getting a little worried as we got in line. Went on the ride, definitely not scary. I thought the projections were kind of fun, nice little twist to an already cool ride. You can't just do the same ol gag over and over again, people will get bored. I'm a fan of all the overlays.

I do see how it could be scary for children, but Space Mountain isn't really a child's ride is it? That's what all those Fantasyland rides are for! :)

It gives plenty of warning that it may be scary for children. You chose to go on it. Not everything needs to be kid friendly and there are plenty of rides that are kid friendly that you can choose from.

I like ghost galaxy, but I prefer the Normal space mountain over the overlays.

we love it now-but it did scare my DS when he was about 7. My niece however at 6 was only as scared as she wanted to be. She had ridden it before but not with the GG overlay, which I warned her about so I think that helped. My DS went in expecting regular SM and got a shock :scared:. we rode it at least 3 times the first week of october.
