Any fans of ghirardelli's soda fountain and chocolate shop at DD out there? I just love that place! I am sitting here looking over the menu right now trying to decide which sundae I am going to order this trip. I can't believe how descriptive this menu is......it's torture! DH and I shared one of their world famous hot fudge sundaes last trip and let me tell you........well you get the picture. I'm counting the days. :smooth:

I LOVE Ghiardelli's. My favorite is the "Strike It Rich" sundae. I'd love to try the "Earthquake" sometime. DH keeps saying he wants to try the Kitchen Sink at B&C, but I'll bet the Earthquake would be better.

Our family met a very nice pintrader two weeks ago named Ann who works behind the counter. She was very sweet to my daughter.

And oh yes, the ice cream is good! Seating inside was limited though.

Yeh, we usually get ours and sit outside by the water on the brick wall. Funny how just the little things at disney are so much fun. Yes, they do have coffee, hot chocolate and hot mocha too. The earthquake.....that's the one with the 8 scoops of ice cream, 8 toppings and bananas and whipped cream? yummmmmm
My dh wants to try the "cable car" and I think I want to try the banana split. :teeth: Goodie, that just means that we will have to go at least twice because we have to share the sundae...can't eat one by myself. We (my whole family together) had the equivalent of the "kitchen sink" at the Dolphin's fountain shop a couple of years ago and by the time we got halfway through it everything was all mixed together like a big milkshake. It was good at first then it got kinda yucky.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Ghirardelli!!! We usually cap off our trip with hot fudge sundaes. We love this place so much that we go to the one in downtown Chicago and stand in a huge long line just to get a taste of Disney!!

Yummy! We had the Earthquake last year. You would think that 4 adults could eat 8 scoops of ice cream. But no, we couldn't! It was so good though. Lots of fun too! We had a good time eating it and "fighting" over the flavors.

Having never been to DTD, I had somehow overlooked this stop when planning our vacation.

After reading all of your posts.... you know what I added.... this sounds like the true chocoholics dream come true!!!
Thanks for the tip!!!

They have the best chocolate. I'm glad we can buy it in the stores now so that I can bake with it. It is wonderful. Wished I had some now even though it is bedtime.:p

I had a Hot Fudge Sundae last summer here and let me tell you it was to die for. Can't wait for another one in October.

Twinglemum.....you can find the menu on-line at Deb's unofficial disney guide (all ears net) You will see dining on the left side of the page and under that click on Downtown Disney then just scroll down to Ghirardelli's. Be prepared though it will make you crazy! :bounce:

I forget to check Deb's site thank you. This is a very bad site when your trying to Atkins before visiting the mouse.

We go there a few times each trip and eat out near the water... we always seem to time it just right so that we get to see a view of Epcot's fireworks (at least I think it's Epcot)!!!!

They have THE best tasing hot fudge sauce I have ever had....we tried making our own using their chocolate that you can in the stores but it doesn't taste the same. I am ordering some off of their website this week!

Oooh, this sounds yummy! We're thinking of buying SS DVC, so this may become a staple to every trip! I'm going to check out the menu at AllEars.net!

We do Ghiradelli's at least once every trip, maybe more! LOVE that place! Here's our tip: Go to the store first, get your free chocolate sample, then go to the ice cream shop and have your ice cream treat. Then go BACK to the store (by then they've changed greeters) and get another chocolate sample!! :teeth:

Oh Man, this is one of my favorites! This is a must DO every trip (sometimes twice) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

YUMMY! Butterscotch Sundae !!!!!

:teeth:

We often just skip dinner on our Ghirardellis night and eat "dinner" there. There as well as B&C are the only times we let the kids just skip dinner and eat dessert for dinner.
