It looks like my son 5, my husband and I will be going to WDW in February. Due to the fact that it is peak season, it is going to be fairly expensive. I am going to choose between the 3 propertie in the subject. Which one folks suggest? We are all set to the GF this past week, but had to cancel because we changes schools. Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated!!

My vote is for the WL. I thinky your son and husband will really enjoy the Lodge. :goodvibes

I have stayed all 3 of those resorts and had a great time at each of them :sunny:

My family prefers the Polynesian over the Grand Floridian. It has a wonderful, warm, relaxing feel to it. You can't beat the view of the castle and fireworks at night from the pool, and/or the beach.

We love the Kona Cafe for all 3 meals. Also there's the character breakfast at 'Ohana, as well as dinner (without characters).

The volcano pool is a lot of fun! And we liked the zero-depth entry of it too.

We loved the Wilderness Lodge too. For us, the Polynesian is our favorite Disney resort, with the WL as a close second.

I have pictures of all 3 of these resorts on my web site. The link is below in my signature. Please feel free to ask any questions! :flower:

Well, that's pretty subjective, and my guess is that you're going to get lots of different answers!

We have stayed at all three, and the Wilderness Lodge is hands down our favorite! We love the overall theme, the breathtaking lobby, the fact that it's all in one building, and we prefer the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom over the monorail. (There's nothing like being on that first boat to the Magic Kingdom on a foggy morning.) We also love being so close to Fort Wilderness and all the fun things to do there. Plus, DH and our little guy LOVE Whispering Canyon Cafe - and I would sell my soul for the Cedar Plank Salmon at Artist Point.

Also, we love all the little details - the Mickey totem pole in the lobby, Fire Rock Geyser, the music they play everywhere, the rocking chairs near the fireplace, the little bridge over the steam in the lobby, and the cozy little corners and nooks . . .

And, for what it's worth, we always rely totally on Disney transportation. We have had no problems at all with the boats or busses to or from the Wilderness Lodge. I traveled with my one year old and my elderly mother last December and we had no complaints about the busses at all - and we spent tons of time at Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

I could literally go on an on. We've stayed at many of the Disney resorts (just check out my signature) - but the Wilderness Lodge feels like "home" to us.

Will you have a car? What is your preference regarding theme? Which park will you frequent most often. I believe the Polynesian has the most diverse transportation options (ability to walk to TTC). We enjoyed WL but I would not do it without a car as we spend a lot of time at Epcot and AK and I found the bus route slower. All three are great options for MK.

I've also stayed at all 3 resorts. They were all great. Our last trip was at WL; our next trip this November will be at the Poly.

They are all different. As GEM said, it's pretty subjective when it comes down to it. Read all you can about the theming at each. Let that be the deciding factor -- what do you want to experience.

When our daughter was 4, we stayed at the Poly. It was so convenient to be on the monorail, especially since we spent most of our time at MK and Epcot. Our next 2 trips were at WL.

For me, the Poly and WL are tied. I chose the Poly this time because of the relaxing feeling around the grounds, especially when returning at the end of the day. The landscaping is beautiful. At night, the tiki torches are lit and the music is playing all around you. I also wanted to be on the monorail.

You can't wrong with any of these resorts. Let us know what you decide!
