I'm one of the few who can envision booking a resort studio as long as the DxDDP returns.
I'm all for doing nothing but making an occasional cuppa coffee or tea in the villa or popping over to Gaspy's if we've a "free" refillable mug again.
I love to cook but detest cleanup and am perfectly content to sit-n-set at the GF in particular. I'll joyfully sit and let someone set food in front of me at GF Cafe, Citricos and
especially V&A's. I'll even buffet-dive at 1900 PF despite the generally so-so food. Loves me some characters coming around to meet me while I'm busily stuffing face.
I'll be getting a divorce, though

, if I insist upon staying in one, because DH is adamant he's not giving up his spacious 1br. And actually, I'd sorely miss my penguins.
They also could have done things to gauge desire for them.
Disney never does anything of this magnitude without being fairly sure it'll fly.
As Sandisw indicates, Disney undoubtedly determined by some means that hotel room-style studios would appeal to The Grand's
DVC clientele. The place has a ton of restaurants once all reopen, so I can see the potential for a niche market of no-kitchenette fanciers.
