What are the likes dislikes for each. Just stayed last yr at GF CL and felt like a princess the whole time I was there. They brought up a chocolate Mickey for my husbands 40th birthday brought the kids special cookies ect. And this time we are celebrating two actual birthdays and an anniversary all while on property. Sept s a big month for for us:rotfl:

So feedback pease

Thanks
JJ

Well one difference that is obvious is that the Contemporary is the closest resort to the Magic Kingdom and the only one with a walkway that goes there.

Now if your also wondering about their Club Level service I have stayed Club Level there on the Atrium Club 12th floor multiple times and each time it was a positive stay. However and this is true of any WDW Resort or Club Level stay, just because at the Grand Floridian gave you all those things does not mean it will happen somewhere else. Yes you can put it on your reservation that your celebrating a birthdays and an anniversary, however I am sure a lot of other guests are doing the same and WDW can't do something for everyone.

When it comes to other differences if you happen to have a car the Contemporary self parking lot is a lot better because it's a short walk to their lobby, where as the self parking lot at the Grand Floridian is across the street.

Finally when going to Epcot from the Contemporay you take the Resort Monorail one stop to the TTC, then switch to the Epcot Monorail. From the Grand Floridian when you take the Resort Monorail it stops at the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary before arriving at the TTC.

Also when the Contemporary and Grand Floridian share Bus service, the Contemporary is always the 1st stop and Grand Floridian is the 3rd stop after the Polynesian.

The main thing for us is the walkway to MK. I've said more than once that it's worth it's weight in gold! But we got stuck in MK for over two hours (in the ticket area) after closing while a nearly full capacity crowd fought over the ferries and monorails, so we vowed to always try and stay at the Contemporary after that (when our kids are with us - they were wonderful about the long wait, but it was such an unnecessary and wasteful use of time that we hated it).

However, I've never stayed at GF (I've been there for ADRs) so I can't compare the comforts. We are hoping to stay there on the Adults Only trip we'll be taking in another year or two. I was perfectly happy with the amenities and decor of the Contemporary though. We had a one bedroom suite in the Garden Wing and the kids loved it and loved seeing the electrical water parade when we were there at night.

If you are accustomed to the GF style, food and pampering, you'll probably want to stick with it.

Having stayed multiple times at GF RPC and CR CL here is my list:

CR Pros:
View of MK from room and CL lounge
Walk to MK
Monorail seems less full when boarding due to GF being last stop before MK

GF Pros:
Much better CL food, variety and quality. Especially at breakfast
We prefer the staff at GF. They have always gone above and beyond and provided surprises on all of our visits.
We prefer the pools and they are also not as crowded generally.
We like the dining options at GF, including 24hr room service.

If we were not staying RPC it would be more of a tie as we prefer a "all under one roof resort." If we were staying in the outer buildings CR would be more attractive for ease of access to services. Also, can't comment on the parking because we use valet but I have heard many complaints about the self park at GF. Just to let you know we have always received a little surprise at GF but not on any of our CR stays. But as this really is an extra not to be expected I would not let it influence your decision. Also, just as an aside we love BWI CL when staying in the Epcot resort area.

For us, it would be the GF hands down :). We've never stayed at the CR as the theme/decor doesn't appeal to us, but we love the GF (especially RPC). Being within walking distance to MK from the CR is a nice perk, but that isn't enough to sway us to stay at the CR. With that said, going to MK from the GF, it's the first stop on the monorail (although it's the last stop from MK). I think the GF grounds are beautiful and the overall atmosphere is nicer than the CR, but that's just my opinion ;). Good luck deciding and have a magical trip :wizard:.
