I am planning a trip for my 40Th,daughter's 5TH and mother's 60TH Birthdays for May 2009. I can not decide between Grand Floridian and the Beach Club.
Any suggestions?

Our very first trip as a family was a special occasion and we decided to splurge on the resort. After a ton of research, we decided on the Yacht Club (pretty much the same thing as BC) over the Grand Floridian. The deciding factor for us was that our kids were little (2 and 4 yrs at the time) and we thought that the GF was a little too formal with such little kids and we loved Stormalong Bay.

What I would also consider is which park you plan on spending more time in. BC is convenient for Epcot and DS, whereas GF is great for MK.

I have stayed at both GF and BC along with YC also. Although I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, I like them in this order: GF, BC and then YC.

GF is a beautiful resort and if I were going on an all girl trip, I would definitely pick this resort because to me, it's got a feminine feel to it. Plus they offer the afternoon tea which I think would be a kick to do but DH would not be interested at all. WHen I walk into the lobby, I feel spoiled and pampered. Also, there's something magical about staying on the monorail loop. Only at Disney do you have that experience.

BC is also a great resort. A very different feel. While YC is a bit more dark and mature, BC has a very casual and airy feel to it. When I enter the lobby, I can feel myself relaxing. This is my second favorite place to stay. Not only does it have the amazing pool but I love being able to walk into my fav park, Epcot. When we stay at BC, I go to Epcot for part of each day and love that convenience.

What a tragedy to have to choose between the two. :rotfl: I hope you have a great vacation.

i would pick:
1~GF
2~BWI
3~YC
4~BC
we find BC just waaaaay too noisy & busy for our tastes (great if you have a lot of little ones ~ the "older" might appreciate a less rambunctious atmosphere tho), both GF & BWI appeal to all ages, YC more elegant & quiet.

:)

The BC was one of the quietest places that we have stayed. Now, in the morning it is a little hectic because of the character breakfast at Cape May and, if you get a room by Storm-Along Bay, it is probably noisy; otherwise, it as a peaceful place to stay.

We stay at the BC primarily. It will be our 3rd trip in a row this October we're staying at the BC.

My kids are 9 and 4 and they love the resort as well as DH an I.

I would love to stay at the GF one day but will probably wait until the kids are older or its just DH and myself.
