I haven't stayed in Sugar Loaf since it became a concierge building, and I ended up being quite pleasantly surprised! From all that I'd read and heard, I thought there was going to be a REALLY big difference in the service. But imho, there wasn't. The main difference was no alcohol and no big dessert spread in the evening. Some of the food offerings I'm used to from RPC weren't here, but .. frankly, while I do like these things in MB, *I* didn't miss them all that much. The concierge CM's were still present, still just as helpful and nice as they always are, and just as available as they are at the Royal Palm Club. Don't get me wrong - *nothing* will replace the Main Building for me! LOL But, this was a very nice alternative.

Just a couple more observations, and then I'll write out the food listings, or what I have of them anyway. There is no separate children's table/area for food here as there is in RPC. I did find that a bit odd, only because ... in SL, there were a WHOLE LOT more kids! LOL That is not a bad thing .. except that a few times, in this case, it was -- it was when almost every morning we were there, I kept seeing this group of three families, adults and kids, who were just letting the kids SCREAM and bang into everyone, playing like they were outside! (hey, maybe they were the family from Flying Fish the one night?? LOL) Of course kids shouldn't have to walk around with halos on, in little suits and dresses .. but I don't think they need to behave like they belong in an exhibit at Animal Kingdom either! LOL Sheesh!
Here are the food offerings:

Grand Beginnings - 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Sliced pineapple, honeydew, pink grapefruit, cantaloupe; chunks of watermelon; whole bananas and apples, and sometimes oranges and grapes; apple and cheese danishes; bran muffins; corn muffins; sometimes blueberry muffins; plain, blueberry and strawberry yogurts; cornflakes, cheerios, coco krispies; fruit loops, raisin bran; skim and whole milk; a tea box with a large assortment of teas; 3 flavors to pour in coffee - irish creme; vanilla and almond; sesame, plain, poppy and cinnamon raisin bagels; white, wheat and raisin bread with a toaster and assortment of jellies, cream cheese, butter; coffee, decaf coffee, hot chocolate; orange, grapefruit, apple juice; still and sparkling bottled water (in glass bottles, large ones, not those you can take with you)

Daily Delights - 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Again, we weren't ever around for this! LOL so I never did get to see what this lunchtime offering had.......

Afternoon Tea - 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
*This* was a bit less than what they have at RPC concierge, but not by much. There was of course tea, and the other hot beverages, and waters, as well as pink lemonade and regular lemonade. There was also banana bread; golden raisin scones; 4 types of jellies; (no clotted or Devonshire cream though for the scones); little jam tarts; oatmeal, chocolate chip and sugar cookies; whole bananas, oranges and apples as well.

Twilight Refreshers - 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Marinated grilled veggies (these are so good here!!); assorted cheeses and crackers; proscuitto wrapped melon slices; slicked chicken breast stuffed with red peppers and cheese, with a sauce on the side; country pate; all of the same beverage offerings as every other time...

Also, I'd been told that there was no food service after the 7 pm stuff was taken away. However, every night that we were there, there *were* desserts out, just nothing fancy. Things like brownies, cupcakes, the assorted cookies ... along with all of the cold drinks.

Hope this is helpful and if anyone's got ??'s, feel free to ask!

Thanks, Judi! :) I hope you got home okay despite the surprise snow in MD!

Ahh--the grilled marinated veggies! YUM! They had these at the RPC as well and I swear I could have had a whole tray full! LOL ;) I think I'd miss the evening desserts the most. So, overall, would you stay here again instead of RPC?

Happy Holidays! :)

Yes, we got home fine, thanks!

Overall ... naah - when I have the choice/when there's availability, I'll definitely do RPC again. I just love the main bldg. and never get tired of it!

Thanks for the great review, Judi. What was your room number? (you can PM it to me if you wish).

:) Welcome Home.

Imbe@aol.com, thanks for the nice trip report. I'm glad to hear that Sugar Loaf is a nice place to stay with good concierge service.

Hi Judi..we're just back from Sugar Loaf, too. We were there from 12/24 to 1/1. We loved it and thought the staff was great. A special thanks to K(C?)athy from concierge and Jill from housekeeping for making sure our Christmas tree was shipped home.:D

Hi there, We are just back from a wonderful stay at SL Conc. too!
We were there from 12/20 -12/30. The room was beauutiful, housekeeping was excellent, and the concierge staff was very friendly and helpful.
We would say there again in a heartbeat!!

Hi... thanx for the details on Sugar Loaf Concierge-Lite

What is the lounge like? I understand it is on the first floor? Does it have a view of the marina? TV, movies, stuff for kids?

Thanx!
