Hi everyone....my DBF & I are taking our first trip to WDW together in may, the week of his birthday. I thought it would be fun to surprise him with a treatment at the GF Spa (and also becos i'd really like to visit there myself, lol)...i'm having a bit of trouble deciding. I was thinking about the Soothing Tired Legs Treatment - has anyone ever tried that? It looks relaxing, not too long, and not too 'girly' (I really have no idea what men do at spas, since i never go to them myself). What is it like? Do you sit up or lie down? Any info would be fantastic. All it says on the Nikki Bryan website is "A refreshing soak in our whirlpool footbath followed by a foot and leg massage, a tension-relief gel and moisturizer. A must after a day at the Parks. (25 min) $40." I would love to hear from anyone who has tried it. Thank you!!! :teeth:

i've never done this, but my guess is they do it in the pedicure room where there are chairs with built in little whirlpools that fit your feet...

as for what men do in spas, pretty much everything that women do....body massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, etc etc...

if you want him to have a leg massage, reflexology is good....that is, if they offer it....i don't know if they do..
or you could just get him the regular old classic body massage.......
or if you don't want to spend too much, then get that leg massage....i'm sure he'll find it relaxing...
you could call them and ask their advice as to what to get for him....

the GF spa is small but lovely....one nice thing, the men and women waiting areas are completely separate....which i think is much nicer than having to sit around naked in a robe with men around... (the situation at the gaylord palms spa - ugh...)..

and both the men's and women's side have big jacuzzis and wet and dry saunas (ie the jacuzzi and saunas are also single sex)....

as i said, it's a tiny spa, but very nice....i really really enjoyed it....we used it 3 times, plus since we were staying at the GF we also used the workout room there (very nice equipment)...

I just had the Tired Leg treatment last weekend and was disappointed. It is done in the pedicure chairs so most likely he'd be surrounded by women getting their toes done! Or you could both shedule the treatment and ask to be side-by-side. The teatment included a soak in the pedicure whirlpool which lasted 15 minutes followed by a 10-minute scrub and massage - and my therapist wore latex gloves! Yech! The woman next to me was having the same treatment and her therapist seemed to be doing a much better job with the massage part.

My sister had the Head, Neck and Shoulder massage and loved it. That was done in one of the private massage rooms. Last May I had the 50-minute Swedish massage and it was fabulous. I think you should schedule him for a massage and skip the Tired Leg treatment. :)

thank you for the advice! I had also been considering the head & neck massage for him and it sounds like that would be the way to go, especially since it's in a private room. maybe he can do that while i get a pedicure :goodvibes

Good to know, minniesota. I had considered that as well but think I'l skip that! The head and shoulders does sound good.

Both spas do offer reflexology. I've had it at the old spa at DI and it was wonderful. Haven't had it since it reopened as SSR Spa nor at GF.
