GF room location and other ???

We have ressies for a standard room at the GF. Our main requirement is non-smoking. Otherwise (unless offered an upgrade!!), my only other desire is to not be in a room that looks at the pool building. Does anyone know which rooms to avoid in which lodges?

Also, do I have to request the turndown service when I check in or is it automatic? What about tipping for this service? I always tip about $5/day for mousekeeping, but I don't know what to do with turndown.

We just returned from the GF, and Boca Chica is one building that can look out at the pool house and the other nearby building. Conch Key and Sago Cay, I think, will have unobstructed views of the gardens or monorail.

We left a $5 tip for housekeeping as well as a $3 for turn-down. We received several notes of thanks from turn-down cast members.

If you are coffee drinkers, coffee is provided each morning in each building's lobby! Enjoy your stay; we have been at the GF twice and enjoyed it each time. Lots of fun people watching in the lobby, too.

Regarding the pool house views...

Watch out for even numbered rooms in Big Pine in the 08 to 22 range. They will have a prety good view of the pool house.
