Does anyone know if the pool at the grand floridian has a slide and a separate kiddie pool? How does the pool hopping work for DVC members. Do we just show our member card? Why can't we pool hop to AKL, I understand why not stormalong bay, but is the pool at AKL just as good?

There are two different pools at the GF. The "quiet" pool has a separate kiddie pool and a separate hot tub. THe themed pool, by the beach, has a slide. HTH.

I'm thinking the AKL pool was excluded because it is the only pool at AKL. It does not compare to SAB.

I know the closing times for the theme pool varied, but I believe it's 8pm in the summer. After that, the only ones swimming in it are the ducks. The larger courtyard pool is open 24 hours.

We were at the GF this past April. Yes, there are different pools. They are both large. One is open 24hrs. No life guards. I think it went from 3ft- 6ft. It had a kiddie pool near by and a hot tub. In another area is the other pool , it does has life guards, water slide, water fall, cabanas and over looks the lagoon. They are very nice!

We are DVC members and I thought we were only allowed to pool hop to other DVC resorts (except SAB) NOT other resort pools. Can anybody pool hop to any pool if you are staying on property? I wasn't aware of that if it is true!

DVC can pool-hop anywhere but AKL and SAB, with exceptions. There are black-out times, and you are advised to call the day you want to go, because you can be turned away if it's too crowded.
