I came home yesterday...very excited to try my shingle.
Oh my..it was gross....consistancy of styrofoam...and no taste. Chocolate tasted very cheap as well. Big disappointment. I guess I expected good things from a 10 dollars cookie.
So..who likes it?

My DH loves the shingle (he's eating one right now :rotfl2: )....I love the ginger boy cookies...different kind of dough. Normally I do love gingerbread, but I was a bit disappointed too. I don't like the chocolate on it. I think it would be much better without it, the spices in the cookie don't go well with chocolate.

I also got a bunch of the snowflake cookies. I have not tried them yet, I bought them as gift tags for christmas gifts.

After watching the Food Network WDW special we were dying to try gingerbread with melted chocolate on it. We did make some and it was GROSS!!! Chocolate and gingerbread just don't go together. Glad we found out the cheap way at home instead of putting down $$ to have some at the GF in a few weeks!!!

My mom and dad got back tonight and brought us back the gingerbread man from Germany at epcot and they are great. They also said they bought some of the shingles from GF and was disappointed. They said it had no ginger taste at all. They also used the word Gross.

This makes me feel so much better that I haven't been able to do Christmas at WDW! (...but I still want to, I'll just skip the cookie!)
Thanks!
:flower:

We bought a bag of mixed gingerbread cookies from the GF yesterday (including chocolate covered, iced, pfefferneuse), and they were fantastic - best gingerbread we'd ever had and very high quality ingredients as well.

I didn't like it either!!! Whew! I thought that I was the only one that didn't like it!!!

Oh, thank goodness you posted! I was going to buy a shingle for all my friends! Now I know to buy all the OTHER cookies, but not the shingle (okay, maybe just one, for bragging rights!) Leaving in 7 days!
