Thank you, I did try there first but it is quite confusing and honestly I dont know the parks or restaurants too well and some of the chat Ididnt understand, but will try again.

We'll be at the GF for Thanksgiving too! DH & I ate one year at the old Yacht Club Galley. this year however, we're trying 1900 park fare at the GF for Thanksgiving dinner. They have a traditional buffet, along with special holiday foods, carved turkey, desserts, etc. I would call soon and make reservations though. I called for a 5:30 time, and she said that was filling up already. Maybe we'll see you there!

Be prepared for a busy time. Thanksgiving used to be a non-busy time at Disney. Not anymore! May I suggest that you get a good guidebook to familiarize yourself with the parks and rides. Also, the chat on these boards can become confusing if you don't know the abbreviations. Here's a link to help you: http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm have fun planning your trip!:surfweb:

We've done Thanksgiving at the GF for the past several years.

Our favorite restaurant on Thanksgiving is the Brown Derby. DHS isn't as crowded as other parks on Tgiving. You can request an outside table and with temps in the mid 70s it's beautiful to sit, eat, and people watch while you listen to the pretty Christmas music.:goodvibes

It is crowded that week!! Have your plans made. Make sure you see the Osborne lights, the Epcot Christmas around the world, maybe try a Christmas party at MK if it's running during your stay. The GF is deocorated sooo wonderfully. The huge gingerbread store will be up & they sell holiday treats. The tree went up the night before Thanksgiving last year & all the poinsettias were planted overnight. It is very festive. There is also live music in the lobby from about 2 pm on throughout the evening. The Grand is an awesome place to spend the holiday.

Enjoy!

The guide books helped alot last time so must re-get one. What is Osborne lights and how do I find about the Christmas show?

For the past 2 years, we had Thanksgiving Dinner at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. While it's not the quietest place for dinner, it is lots of fun and the food is YUMMY! :thumbsup2

Here's the menu from last year which was the same in 2006:

Fresh Field Greens tossed with Apples, Candied Walnuts, Blue Cheese, and Dried Cherries, served with a Creamy Maple Mustard Dressing. Entrée Skillet contains Smoke House Breast of Turkey, Maple Glazed Ham, Oven-roasted Chicken, Traditional Stuffing, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Candied Brown Sugar Sweet Potatoes, Giblet Gravy, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry Relish, Corn Bread, Dessert is Pumpkin Pie. Non-alcoholic, non-specialty beverages are included. Full Service Bar available. No other menu selections will be offered.
