I have never eaten at the GF and would like to do so on my next trip. Can anyone give me the scoop on the various options there? I will be dining solo.

Thank you

Sure. I have had breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Both meals are character meals, are buffet, and are pretty good for buffet. I prefer dinner, the step sisters are hysterical.

I alo enjoy Narcoossees. The food is very good, the service stellar, and the location cannot be beat. It is set out on the lake by the marina, and is surounded by a large porch. If you time your ADR riht, you can enjoy WIshes from the porch. I really like this restaurant.

In the afternoon there is a tea served in the Grand Floridian. I have not eaten there, but have read positive feedback.

Gasparilla Grill, I think it is called, is the quick service rrestaurant onsite. The food is fresh and good. You can sit on the patio and look out onto the lake. It is a relaxing view.

There are two pool side "shacks. They are pool bars that serve food, and what I had was good.

I have not had a meal at Citricos, but have read very good reviews.

I love the GF Cafe for breakfast, so good. I honestly prefer it somedays over Park Fare.

Their counter service is pretty awesome with a create your own salad bar, plus a few food options the other monorail counter services don't have.

There is a big variety of options at GF. I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you are feeling fun-loving and young and want to meet characters, then I would pick 1900 Park Fare for breakfast or dinner (choose based on which characters you prefer). These are fairly expensive options, though, and 1900 Park Fare is known more for characters than for unique and interesting food (although I do like the Strawberry Soup).

Personally, on a solo trip, I would prefer a relaxed, nice meal where I was served my food at a table. I would review all the menus and choose a particular dish I would really like to try.

Love seafood? - Narcoossee's

Love Mediterranean-inspired? - Citricos

Love upscale dining and money is not an issue? V&A

Like tea and scones? Tea Room

Like relaxed and casual and reasonable prices? GFC

GFC hands down we enjoyed it!!! I would not hesitate to go there and have lunch or dinner solo. Great food. Table service. Friendly and the atmosphere is pretty!

GFC is my preferred breakfast place, nice dining room, good eggs Benedicte & pressed pot of coffee.

Narcosse's is a an excellent upscale restaurant with a delicious menu and wonderful service. I highly recommend the crispy fried snapper as well as the almond cheesecake.

Citricos is another favorite, great service, wonderful food, the only detriment, it can be a bit loud! The charcuterie platter and the short ribs are among many favorite dishes.

Have fun making your decision!

The Grand Floridian Cafe is my favorite spot for an early breakfast, before hitting up rope drop at MK. The vanilla-laced french toast is amazing!! It is a must do! I have 2 ADR's booked for my November trip, for just myself for an early breakfast since I am an early riser in Disney! My friends who will be there would never wake up as early as me, so I am hitting up GFC twice and Kona once and will meet them in the parks a little later.

Absolute love Narcoosee's--one of the best view's and atmo of any WDW restaurant. However, I hope you have a thick wallet--views don't come cheap at this place. Only other I've done was 1900 Park Fare a while ago with Winnie the Pooh and Friends--food was just okay--but lots of character interaction. I think now they have Cinderella and entourage at dinner, Mary Poppins and gang at breakfast, and Tea with Alice in Wonderland.

GFC has two of the best restaurants on site... and one that is SO good that it literally has no BUSINESS being on site :).

Both Citrico's and Narcoossee's are full tilt honest Signatures - EXCELLENT choices.

Then? There is Victoria and Albert's. I'm not even going to TRY to call this a Signature Restaurant.... it is so far beyond that classification that any "classification" becomes meaningless.

This is one of VERY FEW 5 star restaurants within the US. It is absolutely STUNNING in terms of offerings, ambiance, and service. It WILL cost you - and it's worth every penny. Oh yes - they have a REAL dress code :).

I also like breakfast at the Grand Floridian Café. Great Eggs Benedict with asparagus and broiled tomato as sides.

If you are solo, nothing beats the bars at Citrico's or Narcoossee's. You can order a full meal and the bartenders are attentive and friendly.

Note: There are not loud 20 something bar hangouts--just small, quite bars inside the restaurant. A great escape from the loud kids so often found at WDW restaurants!

You all have be convinced to try the GFC for breakfast. I'm a breakfast person and and early stop there before RD at MK sounds amazing and exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks, everyone.
