GF concierge rooms

Visiting next year in Sept using DVC points. We'll be staying 12 nights at BCV, our home resort, and 4 nights at GF concierge. I'm keen on being on the concierge floor of the main building...do DVC points users tend to be placed there or in one of the other buildings? And once booked, how soon/late would you suggest I e-mail/fax a request?

Hello

It depends on which concierge service you have used your DVC points for or booked and paid for. Sugar Loaf Concierge (which is cheaper) will mean that your room will be situated in the Sugar Loaf building. If you have reserved a Royal Palm Club Concierge (which is more expensive) then the room will be situated on the concierge floor of the main building.

The general recommendation is to call Disney direct and ask them to add your room requests to your reservation at any time. This usually receives a better response than faxing, which is apparently starting to 'annoy' Disney who often do not fulfill the faxed requests.

Yes, I was going to post and say the very same thing. They are totally overwhelmed with faxed requests. The way to ensure your requests are given top priority is, apparently, to ask very politely when you make your reservation.

The points chart only states GF Concierge so I don't know which building it refers to Has anyone done this who can enlighten me?
Maybe I should e-mail member services and ask them which one?

I think you are in luck! According to a thread on the main DVC board (link below) the DVC points are for Main Building RPC concierge! Have a wonderful trip - Royal Palm Club is outstanding. Make sure you make use of the GF RPC IPO and other additional concierge services.

Hi,
I read on the DVC website ( or in one of their newsletters ) that any request made direct to the hotels would be ignored and they should be made through member services only. Speaking personally though I have yet to have success in our room requests in the 4 years I have been a DVC member, indeed we always to seem to end up with the exact opposite..just unlucky I guess.

Can you tell me what you ,mean by RPC IPO ( not up to speed on all the abreviations )!!!!

RPC is the Royal Palm Club which is the Concierge section of the resort in the main building. Apparently there is a better spread of complimentary food and beverages (including alcohol) in the Lounge than in the Sugar Loaf Concierge Lounge (no alcohol).

Not sure about IPO, though .

As Deb correctly mentioned RPC is Royal Palm Club - the Main
Building concierge lounge (which is so much nicer than Sugar Loaf!)

IPO is Itinerary Planning Office. They will arrange any tickets you need and make any priority seatings for you and put them all on a handy itinerary sheet ready for your arrival. They also have a high sucess rate in fulfilling Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast requests amongst the other 'hard-to-get' Disney luxuries! Once you have made your reservation, email them with your reservation ID and let them know if you have any PS requests etc. Their email addrss is -

Just to let you know, I e-mailed Member Services and yes it IS the main building if using DVC points
I'll be sure to use the lounge and will email the itinerary planning office.
