GF CL or AKL CL?

weve never stayed at either resort. We will save $800 at AKL but I like the idea of being close to the MK. They both look amazing. My kids are 8 and 12. They love to swim - both look like they have great pools. Is AKL as remote as some say? We don't know which to pick!!

Remote is a relative term. You can still get everywhere by bus and it won't take forever. For kids, I would always recommend AKL. The club level there is fine. Did it once and decided we won't bother doing anywhere again. Nothing wrong but not worth the up charge.

AKL is remote and the rooms are much smaller. It's still a beautiful resort, but if proximity to MK is important to you, I would pick GF. We'll stay at AKL for short stays or stays that aren't heavy on park touring.

This will be a park heavy trip so GF will probably make more sense.

We've never tried CL at AKL, but have stayed at AKL 2 times and love the resort. With that said, AKL CL would be my choice. I didn't care for GF SL, but I am always reading positive things about AKL CL. As far as AKL being so isolated that it takes a long time to get anywhere, we didn't experience that. The resort is out away from everything, but since the buses only service AKL and Kidani, there is no sharing with any other resort(s). We thought the transportation was fine as it only took maybe 5 extra minutes to get around compared to other resorts.

We're doing a split stay GF RPC and AKL CL. We're only going AKL for three nights though and we planned our AK day and a DHS day while we're at that resort. The regular CL rooms at AKL are about 100 square feet smaller than those at GF, something to keep in mind if you have several people in your party.

As far as transportation, I think it's hit or miss no matter where you stay. We stayed Poly last year and waited half an hour for a DHS bus one evening and we shared a bus with GF. I would plan on building in extra time for transportation no matter if it's bus boat or monorail and no matter where you stay.
