OK - so I am sick of birthday cake! We have had 11 cakes since July 14th (my DD's birthday) so I don't want anymore cake!

But when we're in WDW at the end of Sept./beginning of Oct., we will be celebrating DH's birthday. He doesn't want anymore cake, either, but I'd LOVE to do something special for him.

Does anyone know if the GF private dining can deliver chocolate tuxedo strawberries to our room? Any idea of the cost? How about the private dining number - is that the same number as the bakery line (which I already have)?

Thanks so much!!!

I don't know the cost ( I know it is priced per piece), or the number but if you call the number they have they will transfer you.

Another great idea besides the strawberries is the chocolate cigars. It is a work of art. The box is chocolate, and the cigars are individually packaged and are solid chocolate (there are 6 or 8 not sure...I forgot). It comes on a marble tile, so they can easily write happy birthday on it. We enjoyed that so much, the strawberries have to be eaten quickly, but the cigars will last you the entire trip and then some. We even took some home and had them for a while. The box of chocolate cigars is $85.00.

For some reason, I am thinking the cost was $5 per strawberry? I know we had to order 40 of these at our wedding, to meet the Victoria & Albert's private room minimum. I could be way, way off here...

We just came back from a GF RPC stay, and you get these for free if you are staying concierge. The hotel manager had a platter of them delivered to our room, to welcome us back. Very nice touch...

Cheers!

I ordered a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, with a white chocolate Mickey stnading the middle of the plate fro DH's birthday two Septembers ago. It cost $55.00 then.

GF delivered them one and a half hours late, totally ruining the surprise - and the moment, since DH was eager to get to the parks and couldn't understand why I was dragging my feet.

The strawberries were gorgeous, anyway!

The Disney florist does a really cute "cake" too. It is made of individual candy bars and filled with snacks and smaller candy. I thought it was the coolest thing. It is on their website. I believe it is like 56.00. I am ordering that for DH in September, since everything is wrapped, we can take home what we don't finish.

I think someone had a picture of one of these on the birthday thread here somewhere, but the search function hates me and never works for me. :guilty:

I just ordered the Chocolate Covered Strawberries at the Poly and were delivered last week for my DH 40th birthday. The cost was $34.95 for one dozen along with a white chocolate swan with M&M's in it. I just had concierge take care of it as we were staying GVC.

I think the white chocolate Mickey with the chocolate (tux) strawberries would be a great substitution for a Birthday cake, they'll even include a Birthday card if you ask. Last year we stayed at the GF I pre-ordered from home the white chocolate Mickey surrounded by the chocolate covered strawberries for my husband for our 10 year Anniversary. I had them scheduled to arrive after 2pm on our Anniversary. They never showed up, I called the GF bakery and within 10 minutes there was a knock at our door. My husband was shocked to say the least, they even enclosed a card wishing him a happy anniversary from me. The strawberries tasted wonderful. The next day after spending all day at the parks we came back to our room to find yet another Mickey and a full plate of chocolate covered strawberries. The note apologized for not having hubby's anniversary surprise there on time and this one was compliments of the GF wishing us a wonderful vacation and anniversary. This year I'm trying to come up with something different to surprise my DH. I'm looking forward to reading other's birthday suggestions to you. Have a wonderful trip :wizard:

I'm considering chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. question...does anybody know if they will substitute a chocolate mickey for the white chocolate one? neither dh or I like white chocolate at all, would so much rather have a dark chocolate one...if they even make those.

that is great that they sent you a new mickey/strawberries on top of the wrongly timed one. reminds me of what happened with flowers we sent my mom. not at disney, but we had arranged for flowers to be sent to both our mom's the day after our wedding, as thanks for all of their hard work. being super organized, I called the florists a couple of weeks ahead of time to set it up. MIL got her flowers on the right day, my mom go hers a week ahead of time...the sunday before the wedding. lol. along with a note thanking her for her support, etc. They were mortified and sent another arrangement the following week as well. :)

I've only seen the statues in white chocolate, not dark chocolate.

I ordered the white chocolate Mickey and strawberries at the Boardwalk and it was also $55. I ordered them through in-room dining.

The statue alone was $25, $5. was fees/taxes so I believe the tuxedos (4 of them) were about $20, that makes them about $5. each.

Yes, I'm 99% sure you can order the strawberries by themselves at BWV and YC/BC

I would be interested in an option as well. I'm not that big of a fan of white chocolate, either.

I just ordered the Mickey with the Tux strawberries and it was $50.
