GF cafe breakfast question?

Hi!
We are going in september--free dining, yay!
Anyway, we like to go to the GF cafe at least once for breakfast--it is pretty, usually quiet,, and the eggs benedict is wonderful
I made my reservations, but have "heard" that this will be used for a character breakfast during that time--does anyone know what is going on? The lady that took our res said characters would be there (which would be fine, our kids are 3 and 4, but we could still order from a regular menu. My DH is OCD and will not eat buffet, and is very suspicious of pre-plated food--does anyone know what the real deal is?

they are switching and redoing some of the places to eat around
I will say I ate there last Nov and it was FAB!

The info that I've read says that the character breakfast will be preplated.

Citricos will be serving a la carte breakfast and lunch during that time. It sounds like a better choice for you. The menu during those meals is supposed to be similar to the current GF CAfe menu. Dinner will still be a la carte but with Citricos typical and more expensive fare.

Yes I also read/heard/and was told by a CM, that GF Cafe will be temp. location for 1900 character buffet. I wanted to eat at the GF Cafe for our August trip, but can't. I was making some of my Oct. ADRs and asked if the regular GF Cafe would be back and was told early October, which was good for us.

I haven't seen a menu but have read about the changes on the DIS and also on Deb's site I think. We won't be at WDW during that time but would love to have breakfast or lunch at Citricos just for the novelty.

In my previous post, I typed dinner when I meant lunch. I corrected and explained a bit more.

Great minds think alike. I would like to dine there just to see what the inside looks like. Since we are there in August, we will look into it. Looks like we are staying at your home on that trip (BCV) first time!

I did call them and they confirmed it is now (and in september), preplated--choice of scrambled eggs or waffles...
I cancelled my res, (will add to the cancellation thread!) and will look elsewhere

n2mm, now I'm wondering about Citricos at B&L??? I know I've read about it more than once but can't find it on Deb's site and it wasn't in the Mousesavers newsletter. It could be that it has just been discussed on the GFFAQ which is a fun and chatty thread. If that's where I saw it, it is just what CMs have told some guests. So maybe not accurate or the full story.

We have had dinner at Citricos a number of times. It's excellent. But it would be fun to have B or L there too.
