Hi! I am thinking about taking DD to the GF Spa and then on to the afternoon tea in the Garden View Lounge.

Anyone who has done this, is this enough food for an early dinner? We are both pretty light eaters.

Or do you recommend we just go on to either late lunch or early dinner at the GF Cafe?

This is our first mommy and me trip, and since we ditched the boys, we want everything to be very "girlie" :cheer2:

Tea at the GF is so much fun! I had the Buckingham Palace and I was plenty full by the end. You can find the menu on allears.net of what they offer. What I had included 4 small sandwiches (about a half of a sandwich w/the crusts cut off) and an onion tart which was surprisingly good. After that it was followed by a biscuit w/butter and jam and a raspberry tart. Last I had strawberries and cream (you can choose pastries if you prefer) and there were more than enough for me, I couldn't finish it. You can make adrs for this and I would suggest doing so. I didn't and we had to wait a bit which wasn't a big deal because the GF is so pretty to look at but being able to sit right down would be nice too. Have fun!!!!

Bumping- my sister and I are going in 2 weeks, and I'd like some more reviews/opinions.

There are some awesome pics of the tea party on the dining plan food pic post...Looks like a lot of fun..

tea is so girlie! Do dress up, tiaras are mandatory when I go with friends princess:

We usually do tea instead of lunch, or in the afternoon when we have a late dinner planned.

Enjoy tea and you can always have a snack in the evening if you need

We have done the tea 3 times and also choose the Buckingham. We are full when we leave and usually eat something light later. We might even share a meal from a counter service. If you want more of any item at the tea, you can purchase is a la carte.

We went to the tea last October and it was really relaxing. My friend and I, (girls only trip, no husbands) had an ADR for 2:30 and it was a nice break from the park. We both had the Buckingham. You get about 5 tea sandwiches, a scone and a little jar of jam, a rasberry tart and dessert. We chose the trifle for dessert. It was the best I have ever had. They also had strawberries and cream and a choice of pastries. Also, if you don't like one kind of sandwich, they will bring you the kind that you do like. This was enough food for us for lunch, and we ended up eating a late dinner. Hope you enjoy the tea as much as we did. Have fun!!!

If you are light eaters you will be fine, but you probably won't be stuffed. It's not quite as much food as the menu makes it sound like -- more than a snack, but less than a full dinner. I had the tea last Sunday at 4:40 before leaving for the airport, and also had the Buckingham Palace. Since I wouldn't get home until 11:00, I also had a burger at the airport afterward. But then I am not a light eater.

The service is very elegant, with very nice china place settings, your own personal tea cozy, etc. I suppose you could call it "girlie", though I prefer "elegant". ;) Since I had to change before flying home anyway I was in long pants and a dress shirt, but there were people in shorts and they didn't seem at all out of place. Definitely give it a try!
