GF Afternoon Tea with DH

My b-day is coming up and DH has been asking me what I want to do for something special.
Well, I have always wanted to attend an afternoon tea at the GF.

Here is what I am coinsidering (going by info from allears.net):
Buckingham Palace - Our traditional tea sandwiches, scones and jam tarts complimented by fresh strawberries and cream, or a selection of freshly baked pastries, along with your choice of tea. $17.50 per guest

Now -- for those who have attended -- will DH really feel out of place with me? Is this just a girl's afternoon out type of thing? And do we need to be dressed up? We are not slobs. But don't like getting dressed up unless we Have To.

Oh -- and DH is a coffee drinker. (I like tea or coffee.) But I assume he can get something else to drink besides tea, if he wishes.

There were plenty of men there when we were there (12/05). This isn't girlie at all imho. It's just tea in a really nice setting. My DH and DS didn't go because Dh doesn't drink hot drinks and DS wanted to go with DH not me and DD . I believe they offer port with the more male offering.

DH has gone 2x to the tea with me. Not out of place at all. The first time he didn't want tea, so he had a champagne cocktail with a huge strawberry on the rim. *That* was pretty girly, maybe even girlier than the whole experience.... Seriously, though, the tea is a nice experience and no, you don't have to get all dressed up to do it, although there are those that choose to. DH and I just wore our park attire and there was no problem and we didn't feel out of place. Enjoy!

There are plenty of men around, and they don't look at all out of place. However, how does your DH feel about going? My DH said he'd go, but it was so obvious that he felt out of place there, he looked out of place-know what I mean? I kept giggling throughout the tea everytime I looked at him-think "Tim the Toolman does the GF Tea".

Going to tea at the Grand Floridian is one of my DH's favorite thing to do -- mine too!

I don't think he would choose to do it on his own. But after many years of marriage he has become use to such things. Plus we are both Disneyholics. That helps a lot! And not having kids, we do most everything together.
Involving food always helps too!

Dh enjoyed the GF tea - he had the tea with the pate and port which looked very nice - so nice he wouldn`t share.
We looked tidy though we weren`t dressed up, though alot were. It was a lovely relaxing experience I`d certainly recommend it.

My hubby loves attending the afternoon tea with me, and he is not out of place in the least. There are plenty of couples there, actually mostly couples..very few ladies only tables when we have attended.

A nice short outfit would be just fine, or nice pants/capris and a top. You don't have to get "dressed up", but definately don't go in tank tops and flip flops.

There are other things to drink besides tea. I started with champagne, and hubby ended with a port I believe. It is very nice, the food is delicious. Hubby and I each had one of the all inclusive items from the menu, he took one, I took the other and then we sampled from each others plates.

My wife and I go everytime...it is great fun, and NO you will not feel out of place. We brought DS, 4 last time, and he wants to go back this year as well. It is a nice break out from the parks. Enjoy.
