Look at the menu, it says Lounge Menu. The way it operates, it is definitely a lounge. the takeout window probably pushes it over into QS, but you aren't supposed to order from the takeout window and then sit in the lounge. I think some of the readers were thinking maybe a QS, they might be allowed to go into Geyser Point and sit in there without ordering anything.
I don't disagree with you at all! However on the Disney dining section of the site, it is considered QS. If you sort by "Lounge", it doesn't come up. It does as a QSR. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. :confused3

I would list it as a lounge even though Disney considers it a QS.
Similar to Brown Derby lounge.

I know this is from May but I do have a similar question- like if we wanted to order from the app, where exactly would/should we go to sit? (Any chance anyone who has been there in the past ~6 months wants to chime in?)

The website says:

"Feast al fresco with delectable bites to grab ‘n’ go while enjoying the Resort’s rustic beauty. Nestled in the heart of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, this scenic outpost boasts a walk-up window for dining from the comfort of your lounge chair or at a table on the restaurant’s spacious outdoor deck."

The website doesn't mention servers at all - I'm confused.
If you order from the outdoor window, there are tables around/outside of Geyser Point - spacious outdoor deck. If you want to eat ”inside” GP (which is actually just under a roof, it’s open on all sides), you would check in with the seater about a table and order off the menu once seated. You can go sit at the bar and order off the menu, too. People don’t usually order from the take out menu (pick up window) and take it into GP to eat. I suppose you could, but if you do, you should order drinks or something. The tables in GP are table service, I wouldn’t want to take a table from a server.

The mobile order is far more limited then the menu given when you sit under the roof and are served:rotfl2:
If you want the actual QS part only you can take the food to the outside area by Roaring fork as it is covered the tables on teh walkway are directly in the sun most of the day. The seating on the inside to see the water parade is limited as a good amount of tables are blocked by the bar or other tables. There is no actual seating on the water front anymore but there is a wall that is not very long so may have a place to sit. You can also see the MK Higher fireworks but you are much better standing closer to the water to see this. With that the food is very good at either but you if you are looking for more sit down enjoy the service as the food is certainly more on par with a TS rather than a CS.

There is seating outside of GP along the lake as well as tables near the pick up window. You can take it to the Roaring Forks area if you choose, however there are areas near GP you can eat what you order from the takeout window.

Here is a photo of the seating area along the lake. It is after the line of shrubbery. Photo is taken from inside GP (the chairs with cushions are part of the restaurant/bar). You can see a person reading a book at one of the tables. Disclosure, I did not take this photo, I googled images and it came up, no credit to the photographer but it was from 3 months ago. Family was there 3 weeks ago and they confirmed this seating is definitely there (it was in August when I stayed at WL, too).

When I ate there last, they were still utilizing a virtual queue when the restaurant was busy. During the day, it's pretty empty and you can just walk up.

Thank you, this is so helpful! I thought I remembered seeing the seating along the lake when we were at WL last year but didn't eat at GP. I had assumed we couldn't use that lakeside seating (in general, we had watched the Electrical Water Pageant near there and assumed that seating was also just for GP).

I had recently seen that we could do the mobile ordering on the app and was wondering if it was ok to take our food to sit in the lakeside seating - this is exactly the info I was looking for - thank you so much!
You are welcome! Those tables are not part of GP and for anyone to enjoy. Have a great trip, we made our reservations for September! If you can, do try a meal from GP, or get an appetizer and a drink, you won't regret it. And if you have a refillable mug, it can be used at the pickup window, too. There is a drink station there in addition to the one in Roaring Forks.

Someone mentioned the mobile order being more limited to the printed menu. We found that as well, but if you walk up to the “take away/QS” window the menu is the same as printed (even if it’s not on the electronic board).

Highly recommend this place, service and food was great (we ended up switching to a table when one for 6 came available, but before food came out, they just reversed the charges from our window order so we could tip the server accordingly).

Glad to see this thread pop up. I was thinking about trying somewhere new before the MK after hours event in Feb, bar seating sounds good since I'll be solo.

Some Disney restaurants offer both and it also depends on your definition of QS vs TS. Also depends if they have bar seating which usually means you find a seat on your own but the rest of the experience is the same for everyone.

BOG as I recall when we ate there a couple of years ago has everyone stand in line and then you place your own order at a computer screen/kiosk type thing before being seated. You help yourself to silverware/beverages and then find a table. Someone brings you your food when ready. For us it was an example of both QS/TS mixed together. Not sure what BOG is considered now with their pricey/fixed menus.

To me QS is where you order at a counter from a posted menu, get your own food, pay and then find your own seat. The only interaction you have with the staff is when paying for your food. TS is more of the traditional restaurant experience where you are seated by the staff and they take your drink/food order. They bring you your food when it is ready. When you are done eating they bring you the bill. Combinations of those variables would be more of the hybrid model mentioned earlier.

I would call it a bar with a seating area. The menu is limited to mostly apps. They are very good, but there isn't a huge selection, and if your looking for fine dining - this isn't it. Don't get me wrong, its pretty much a must go for me every trip, but two of us will take down 4 orders of apps. But I wouldn't even classify it as a restaurant, it's a bar (I do like the term lounge that Disney uses).

That’s what we did before MK AH on 1/9. Worked perfect to take the boat over. Our server brought us plastic cups to take the remainder of our drink as we walked to the boat dock.

We also used a Minnie Van to go from Epcot direct to WL to save some time (we hadn’t planned on being at EP that day but wanted to ride GoG again!). That worked perfect and the “van” was there when we got to the pickup point.
