Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Disney Dining Plan

So there is seating that is open for individuals using the grab-and-go window? This is good to know! If we can use our QS credits for this we will 100% take a midday break from MK to head over for a decent meal.
If you order from the QS window, you don't sit at a table in GP, unless you plan to order drinks or more food. The tables and bar seats are for people ordering food there. Just like you wouldn't bring a hot dog and fries you ordered from Casey's at the MK into the Plaza Restaurant to sit and eat. There are tables along the water edge where you can sit and eat when ordering QS, but not under the GP "roof".

Yes! This should be clarified. The tables under the main part of the covered restaurant are tended to by wait staff and shouldn't be taken by anyone not intending to order from the main restaurant menu (and tip the wait staff). That being said, I like the views from the open tables and sofa/coffee tables arranged at waters edge better than that from the main restaurant.

So if ordering from the window and using a QS credit, can you order a cocktail as the drink for your QS credit?

You can if the drink is on the QS menu. If it is not, than no, it's not included. The QS location is a separate menu from Geyser Point, it's not the same. If a drink offered at GP is not on the QS menu, it's not included. If you go onto MDE and look up Geyser Point Bar and Grill To Go, you will see what is available. They only have beer and wine, no cocktails.

Bumping this to see if anyone has successfully mobile ordered and picked up from the take-out window and did this using the QS credit on the DP. Our trip is in Sept and I'd love to have confirmation that this is an option in 2024..

I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure I saw a sign at the counter when we did a mobile pickup that they do accept QS. I wasn’t using a dining plan so I didn’t pay attention to the details.

The window is a QS always has been. For seating you can walk back towards the main pool on the opposite side of the pool there is plenty of covered seating. We do this when we stay there as you could also order from Roaring fork being that is a few steps inside from the outside seating should a person not like the QS Geyser point menu as it is limited but very good. The covered seating by the bar next to the pickup window is considered at TS but also has a larger menu .

I think the confusion is whether the GP sit down bar menu can be ordered as QS and picked up at the window. There is a separate GP QS menu, which can be a walk up or mobile order, but is the GP Bar menu (from the covered seating bar area) available as QS pick up, too? I've heard yes and no. From post #30 above, the attachment seems to indicate you can, but we all know even those responses are not always correct. And if you can, does it count as a TS or QS credit? If I remember correctly, when we ate at GP bar (sitting down), the food counted as TS, not QS. Though that was pre-covid. It does state in MDE that GP Bar accepts the 2024 DP, but it doesn't say if it is TS or a QS credit. Would be a good use of a QS credit, not a TS credit.

I don't know for sure, but I can tell you my experience at Beaches Pool Bar and Grill at the Grand Floridian. When using a QS meal credit and ordering at the window, you ARE NOT able to include a drink from the bar as your beverage.

That's odd. I wonder why? Are they considered "Specialty Drinks" and excluded somewhere in the fine print of the DDP (which I read but probably should reread)? ETA: the DDP says you *can* order specialty drinks. I'm so confused !

Here is what I didn't add, since it does not apply to Geyser Point... You CAN redeem your QS meal credit and get a fun drink if you order from the bar at the Beaches pool at VGF, vs at the window. I have wondered if the Oasis pool bar at Poly works the same way. I ordered at the bar in January and had no problem getting a frozen drink with the QS credit, but the separate food window was closed at that time due to weather. It may have something to do with the order terminals , since the receipt from the bar has the tio amounts at the bottom.

We are here now and on DDP. I attempted to mobile order from Geyser Point and it was only allowing me to use table service credits. Not sure if in person ordering would be different.

That’s what I suspected (see post 33). It was TS credits when we were there a few years ago using the DP, pre covid. I would not use a TS credit there. You can do a QS mobile order from the window, but it’s a different menu.
